There is nothing pure in this world.

I notice more and more how many things have changed on earth. When places were undiscovered and there werent any people to ruin things and put a gas station on every corner. I am constantly being exposed to history and seeing the greed and destruction that we as humans plauge the world with. I cant help but think of the matrix when agent smith says ( Read more... )

What pisses me off the most is that change from our ridiculous society's ideals is nearly impossible... not because it woudln't work, but because people don't care. Just about every human (Americans specifically) are incredibly selfish (myself included) to different extents, in the fact that the lives we live are easy the way they are. Many people are not willing to make the extra effort to even buy organic/freerange meat because it's more expensive. People aren't willing to stop shopping at WalMart because it's so damn cheap, despite it's evil. There's been different variations throughout history, usually having to do with money, but now we are a selfish, and specifically consumerism-driven society that will not change for anything.

exactly, this is where the whole importance of the individual comes in. People feel like they are too small but if people just started to care one by one, there would be actual change. Nice seeing you last night by the way

Yeah... definitely... though people's individuality in our country consists of following trends. At least there are some good trends, such as veggie/veganism or straight edge (though I participate in neither :)), but such things will obviously have a hard time competing with all the mindless trends, such as watching the OC or dressing like Britney.

I love America, but I hate most Americans.

Nice seeing you too.

I agree with you on (almost) all points. Unfortunately, I love my material things and materialistic ways entirely too much to make any good on these ideas and move to some remote part of the jungle and become a hunter-gatherer.

Besides, everything is random, meaningless, and going to end somehow anyway. (I AM SO POST-MODERN.)

OH PS!

ADOPT A CHINESE GIRL! DON'T PERPETUATE OVERPOPULATION!

Which, honestly, I think is the real problem.
