Having been actively looking for work for about seven months now, I can tell you you're absolutely right: entry-level jobs are gone. Even jobs that claim to be entry-level aren't. It's quite ridiculous.

When I wrote this, I was thinking of your comment about being able to do secretarial work when you were 12-- it's so true. When I was at 6Ds, someone's 6-year-old granddaughter came in and I let her help me with my work. Granted, she wasn't very good at it, but she might have been able to do it with some training. It's hard because even after being out of college for a few years, I still need an entry-level job because everyone is so over-qualified for the jobs they apply for. If I applied for something that is an equal match for me, everyone else applying would have 10 years of experience and a PhD.

Economy is no good right now.. employers can be as picky as they want.

By the way, I don't think you are currently looking for a job, but if by some chance you are, my uncle fwded me a thing about job openings at Second Harvest - non profit food bank, where he works - and said if I knew anyone, to pass along info/recommend.
2 positions: Donor Services Specialist and Food Fund Drive Coordinator

Anyways, if you're interested or know another competent person that'd be interested, I can fwd along some info.
