“Our time is almost up, I have one last question for the members of ASK,” the interviewer said, “How do you feel about your debut? Are you satisfied with it?” She asked calmly and directly as she waited for the response of her guests.

“No,” Ryo Nishikido, the front man and lead singer of ASK responded coolly. “Since we just started, we can’t be satisfied at once with that. If we say that we already are, then doesn’t that mean that it’ll be our end already?” He explained and smirked at the face of the interviewer.

The interviewer stared at them for awhile before saying, “The sales of your first album are very good, and yet you are not happy with the result? My, my, for a new singer, you are quite snobbish about it, aren’t you?” She then turned to the head manager and told him, “Takizawa-san, I like it. I think they’re pretty good.”

A man in a long black coat and hat smiled as he walked closer to them. “Well, if Ms. Kaoru says so, then I’m relieved and my confidence grew.” He said. Kaoru turned back to the band and said, “I am looking forward to your first concert. Thank you for your time.”

“It’ll be exciting,” Ryo smirked yet again.

“Please continue to support us!” One of the band members, Shigeaki Kato said as he smiled at the camera while the other member, Keiichiro Koyama made a peace sign as cameras flashed before their eyes.

“Next in line for the interview is…” Kaoru started as she checked her organizer. “Bad Luck? The one handled by Nakamaru Yuichi, am I right?” She turned to look at Takizawa Hideaki who replied, “Really now? Wouldn’t it be an interesting afternoon?”

“What do you think?” Kaoru asked.

“I don’t really know. Well, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see, don’t we?” Takizawa replied, smirking in the end.

-

Two men stood impatiently along the busy streets of Tokyo while still waiting for someone. One of them, Nakamaru Yuichi, kept on looking at his watch and then around to see if the last member has arrived. He looked again only to be disappointed while his company, Tanaka Koki, remained standing and sighing every now and then.

“Yuichi, Koki!” A sudden voice was heard along with his fast footsteps.

Nakamaru turned to look and was relieved when he finally saw their final member arrive.

“Seriously Kazuya, what took you so long?” Koki whined as their final member, Kazuya Kamenashi, dressed in casual clothes with an orange backpack, ran towards them, jumping in the end.

“I am coming!” Kazuya exclaimed.

-

“Do you know how hard it is to arrange a meeting with the manager? Letting the company help you to compose your first two songs, do more promotions and you will be famous! And yet you…you…you-“ Nakamaru explained in a very strict tone, being of course, the manager for Tanaka Koki and Kazuya Kamenashi’s band, Bad Luck.

Kazuya and Koki were seated at the stairs, the latter drinking canned coffee every now and then while the other was just sighing his way through, half-listening to their manager. “Seriously Yuichi, you exaggerate too much.” Koki commented as he took a sip to his coffee.

“What is wrong with exaggeration?!” Yuichi asked exasperated as he looked straight into Koki’s eyes.

“Well, how do I say it…It’s not really, well-“ Koki tried but was cut off again by the older man. “It’s not going to work if we don’t exaggerate it!” He then turned to the youngest of them three and cried, “We don’t even have a single song written!” But Kazuya happens to already be sleeping peacefully during the whole conversation.

“Kazuya!” Yuichi called tiredly, already devastated with what’s happening. It’s as if the band members don’t really care at all with what’s happening to their own band. Do they really wanna do this and be famous?

-

Kazuya and Koki were inside a fastfood restaurant as the latter was listening to a song his band mate wrote while reading the lyrics. Kazuya, however, just kept on eating and eating when suddenly the lyrics were shoved in front of his face.

“It’s only 10 more days before the concert, are you sure you want to do the concert with this?” Koki asked while holding out the paper in front of his friend’s face. The latter just bit into his burger while staring uninterestedly at the piece of paper.

“So are you saying that what I did was bad?” Kazuya said, making it look like he was insulted.

“No, not really, I just felt like it was hard to understand, even if it’s halfway through or something,” Koki replied as he got a piece of French fry into his mouth and looked out the window. “Kazuya, are you being late on purpose?” He asked.

“Actually,” Kazuya started and lowered down his head. The other looked at him again and urged him to continue. “I saw a turtle before I came here, and it was tortured by children. So after that, I…”

“You returned it back to its proper home, that’s why you were late.” Koki ended monotonously, expecting that was what happened.

“Bingo!” Kazuya said proudly.

-

“I’m really grateful for Yuichi, and Takizawa is a great producer, it’s also a big successful company, but…” Kazuya sighed as he grabbed a cup of coffee and sipped.

“Find a lover, an ordinary one,”

“What…what kind of theory is that!” Kazuya exclaimed as he put his cup down and stared at his friend who seemed to only be calm about it. “It’s been a long time since you were in a relationship, right?”

“Right, right, but I don’t mean that!” Kazuya said and Koki just smirked at him. “I believe you, Kazu. I think you have talent and work hard but, everyone will get tired of what you’re doing.” The older man stood up and left after saying, “Think about it.”

“Koki,” Kazuya called before the other left the room. “Talents, are you really born natural with them?” Koki just stared at him and smiled. “2 o’clock tomorrow don’t be late.”

-

Later that evening, Kazuya walked along the park with many things on his mind about his career. “Have a talent and working hard,” He remembered what Koki told him awhile ago. “But, this is not going to work.” He told himself as he stared over the bright lights of Tokyo buildings.

He took out the paper where his lyrics were written on and stared. “Find a lover, huh? It might be a good idea.” He smiled and suddenly sneezed. The wind picked up and suddenly blew out the piece of paper he was holding.

“Oh, shit!” He ran after the paper hoping that it wouldn’t get lost. Finding something at this time of the night would really be a pain. Just as he was about to get closer, he stopped dead in his tracks when he saw a man holding his paper.

The dark-haired man was smoking a cigarette while looking at the paper he caught in his hands. His face was unreadable and he had his black polo and pants on.

Kazuya gulped at what the good-looking stranger might think about it. His eyes suddenly widened when the man spoke with his low voice, “Was this composed by you?” Kazuya stuttered with his answer. “Oh, y-yes,”

“It’s even worse than,” the stranger started. “A primary student, this kind of love song.” He criticized as he let the paper be blown over his shoulder. He then walked over to Kazuya and said frankly without looking into his eyes, “You don’t have talent, give up.” And walked away.

Kazuya’s feet seemed to be nailed down to the ground and he was speechless. It was only when the stranger was already feet away when he spoke up, “Hey!” only to be ignored and fell down on his knees. “You…do you have to be really explicit!” He exclaimed in the middle of the night and watched the other walk away from him.

-

The next day in the studio, Yuichi was still devastated when Kazuya came in without his finished product. He was already panicking but still tried his best to say, “I’m not really blaming you but if we don’t get it fast, it will be too late!” He also tried to avert his devastation to other things in the room seeing as it was the only way to let him be calm.

“But it’s still not finished! I haven’t done my part, please excuse my incompetence.” He said as he made it to the window with the attempt of jumping out of it if Kazuya and Koki hadn’t stopped him. “Hey, hey! In fact, yesterday…” Kazuya strained to say while holding out their manager.

Koki looked at his band mate. “Yesterday? What happened after I left you?” He asked as his grip left Yuichi making Kazuya lose his grip as well causing their manager to completely fall out the window…from the first floor of the building.

“Yesterday, well…” The younger member had a sad look on his face as he remembered what happened last night with the stranger and told about it to Koki. “The lyrics were accidentally discovered by a rich guy.”

“Well? What did he say about it?”

“He was a snobbish guy. He even said in front of my face that I have no talent and that I should give up already,” Kazuya sadly said. “And that my work does not even compete with the standards of a primary student.” He then looked at his friend and asked, “Hey, don’t you think it was too much when he said that, huh?” But it seemed like Koki wasn’t paying attention that much.

Yuichi popped out from the window and asked, “So, because of this, you weren’t able to finish it?” Kazuya just sighed.

-

“By the way, I saw Yamashita the other day.” Koki said, referring to another musician. “He is a special case. He is living in a world not related to talent, because he is god.” Kazuya said as he remembered his friend.

Koki just brushed away the topic and went back to the stranger from last night. “Anyway, don’t mind what other people say about what you did. Don’t be so much affected with a comment coming from an ordinary person. You shouldn’t be that depressed.” He said calmly while patting Kazuya on the shoulder.

“It’s not like that! When we met each other, it felt like we were opposites. I just want to find him and see him again so that he could apologize to me.” Kazuya said, looking down on the floor.

-

It was a rainy night in Tokyo and the streets were crowded as people were already going home from their work. Kazuya was just walking under the rain, remembering what he and Koki talked about awhile ago.

“Anyway, don’t mind what other people say about what you did. Don’t be so much affected with a comment coming from an ordinary person. You shouldn’t be that depressed.”

“Impossible!” Kazuya said. “It’s impossible to forget because…because he’s too good-looking.” He paused and looked up towards the dark sky and rain. His daze was suddenly cut off when someone exclaimed, “Wow! That’s a great car!”

“Isn’t that a foreign car?” Kazuya looked at the object of interest and noticed something. He gasped and without even thinking, he ran towards the middle of the road even if it’s already the Go sign for the cars to pass through.

He stood in the middle of the road, waiting for the foreign car to stop in front of him. “Wait! Stop right there!” He yelled, and people around stopped to look at what might happen, some worrying at what might happen to Kazuya.

The shiny black car swerved to stop and the driver tried his best not to hit the crazy person standing in the middle of the streets. Cars before honked and were annoyed at what just happened but Kazuya seemed to be unaffected by it.

The driver of the said vehicle got out and seemed pissed at what’s happening. “If you want to commit suicide, go find another car.” The owner of the car was the same obnoxious man Kazuya met the night before. “Bastard,” He said glaring into Kazuya’s eyes. But the latter didn’t care as he too stared at the tall man in front of him.

-

The handsome man got out of his room, drying his hair with a towel and walked into the living room finding Kazuya still glaring at him. He just snickered and threw the younger man a towel. “Here’s a towel, take this.” Kazuya was stunned as he got no choice but to accept the offer.

The man got a can of beer as Kazuya continued drying himself while glaring at the owner of the apartment. “Hey, did I do something wrong to you to treat me like this?” Kazuya asked voice annoyed. “Of course! You nearly ruined my car, idiot.” The other man replied with the same tone.

“I didn’t mean that!” Kazuya exclaimed. “The other night, at the park…” He said.

The other just looked away and said, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Kazuya looked up again and said, “What! You said-at that time-“ His words were cut off by the other who said, “What do you want? Are you trying to get pay back? Who the hell are you anyway?”

Kazuya stood up from the couch, “I’m Kazuya Kamenashi-“ yet his words were cut off again by the same man who said, “Whatever your name is, as long as you can understand but I can’t see why you want to commit suicide.” He placed down his beer and grabbed his pack of cigarettes and started smoking.

“I just…” Kazuya looked down. “I just wanted to see you again.” His tone now low and calm and a bit desperate. The other man just looked at him. “Now I see. You’re impressed by what I said before, huh?”

“That’s not it!”

“How could you compose such a bad song?”

Kazuya’s anger suddenly came back and yelled back at the older man, “How could just say that I’m not that good so casually?” But what the other answered him made him speechless and stunned. “You know yourself; you said you don’t have any talent.”

-

“I see, I see. I understand.” Takizawa was talking to someone on the phone while Yuichi waited patiently for him to hang up. “Nittle Grasper won’t be formed without Yamashita. Hey, I’ll help you get the place ready. Okay, bye.”

“Head manager,” Yuichi started but Takizawa had the decision at once. “No!”

“But head manager-“ Yuichi tried again but the older man spoke, “I will concentrate on ASK as of the moment. This will be the most effective strategy.” He said while checking the files of the other members.

“But…”

“Nakamaru,” Takizawa stared hard at the younger man. “I’m sorry.” His face now softened and the other man was stunned and speechless.

Suddenly, the door burst open revealing Kazuya who seemed to be stressed and strained but at the same time looking proud and accomplished. “I finished it.” He said while holding out a cassette tape where his new song was recorded.

“Kazuya!” Yuichi exclaimed proudly and he heard clapping sounds from his back. He turned to find the head manager clapping and said, “Well done, Nakamaru.” He smiled and Yuichi had no choice to smile back.

“But,” Takizawa started again. “You still have to find a way to fix my door, alright?”

-

“Congratulations on the completion of the song!” Koki continuously patted Kazuya on the back while Yuichi loaded the cassette into the player so they could try and listen to it. “Eh, why don’t you look so confident and happy?” Koki asked when his band mate wasn’t saying anything.

Kazuya was in a daze while munching a Pocky stick in his mouth and suddenly looked at his friend. “Of course I’m not!” He sighed and continued pounding on the table. “After the comments that bastard gave me, I managed to complete the song with anger and frustration. I feel so useless.” He said tiredly.

“That guy seems powerful,” Koki started. “Have you asked his name?”

Kazuya looked at him and stared. “I haven’t asked his name.” Koki almost fell out of the chair because of his answer. “What, are you crazy?”

“I really wanted to ask but it doesn’t seem like he wanted to tell me his name.” The younger man defended.

“But, in fact, you actually like him.” Koki teased making Kazuya look at him in shock. “You have been talking about him since you came here,” He explained and Kazuya abruptly stood up from his seat and tried defending himself once again.

“What are you talking about! He is-“ Kazuya tried but his band mate cut his words. “It doesn’t matter what his sex is,” He teased again, standing up from his seat. “Darn it. And I wanted to have you all for myself even. But now it seems that I have to give you to another man.” Koki reached out to break the Pocky stick from Kazuya’s mouth and licked it slowly before eating it himself.

“Koki, you…” Kazuya suddenly reached out and said, “I’m sorry. I never noticed.”

“I just want you to be happy all the time,” Koki continued playing along and ended with a very teasing face. “Go on and find a right person quickly.” He laughed as he got back to his seat. “Do you even know where he lives? Knowing his name is irrelevant.” The older man asked as they continued talking about the strange man.

Yuichi, on the other hand, had two remote controls in his hands and was trying to find how to play the cassette tape already. He, however, managed to turn on the television and kept on switching channels until it stopped.

The familiar voice coming from the television caught Kazuya’s attention as he turned towards the piece of electronic. “I hope every reader has a different point of view,”

“That man…” Kazuya said as he pointed towards the man in the television. He was the same guy he has been talking about the past few days until present.

“So this book was written by Jin Akanishi. Now may we ask what his views about love are after writing such a good love story?” The interviewer said and the camera turned to the person of interest again.

“Oh, I don’t believe that love is everything. No, I don’t trust people…” The man named Jin Akanishi answered.

“Jin…Akanishi?” Kazuya repeated the name as he continued staring at the television.

“Jin Akanishi,” Koki started. “He is a love story writer who is really popular now especially to young girls around.”

“A writer, huh?” Kazuya said. “Now I understand why he criticized your work like this.” His band mate said after realizing that the man they were talking about before was the one and only Jin Akanishi.

Yuichi finally managed to play the cassette tape after pushing the right button. “Finally! Sorry to keep you waiting.” He turned back to the band and was surprised when Kazuya was no longer in the room. “Hey, where’s Kazuya?”

Koki had a smug look on his face as he answered, “I think he’s going to confess to someone right now.”

And Yuichi can’t understand what he was talking about.

-

Kazuya ran out of the building and into the busy streets of Tokyo as fast as he could to get to his destination. He ran across the park and into the street he was already accustomed to. He stopped dead in his tracks when he got to his destination and tried to catch his breath.

Once he finally breathed normally, he was already in front of a big building and wondered how he could get in. He looked around and saw that there should be a correctly entered digit code for someone to get into the building. He stared into the machine and was about to enter some digits when a voice from behind suddenly surprised him.

“What are you doing?”

Kazuya looked to the source of the voice and saw the one and only Jin Akanishi standing behind him. Silence erupted between the two as they continued on staring at one another until Jin smirked and finally said, “So, you really want to see me?”

“Who said so!” Kazuya started to get pissed again. “I’m just here to invite you to something. I don’t care if you’re a writer or whatsoever but I need you to come to my concert!” However, what he was saying was suddenly cut off by a woman’s voice calling Jin’s name.

The woman opened the door and got outside of the building. “Hey, Jin-“ She stopped when she saw that Jin has company. She stared at him and Kazuya stared back, wondering who the hell she is. “Who is this kid?” The woman asked sternly.

Jin just shrugged and walked towards Kazuya and wrapped his arms all over him. “Let’s go, Kazuya.” The younger man was, of course, surprised at what’s suddenly going on while Jin had a smug yet triumphant look on his face as he faced the woman. “I have a date with him today.” He said.

The woman looked at him in disbelief as Jin continued on. “He likes hanging out with me.” His grip on Kazuya tightened while the latter defended himself. “I do not!”

“Oh come on, don’t deny. You’re always like that. But this is why you look so cute and I like you because of it.” The older man leaned in closer towards Kazuya’s face and threatened silently into his ear, “Don’t shout, be careful or I will kill you.” And Kazuya had no choice but to agree.

“I understand, that kid,” The woman crossed her arms and continued. “is now more important than me?” She asked and Jin looked at her with fierce eyes. “That’s right.” He replied, still holding on tightly onto Kazuya.

“Idiot,” The woman cursed and walked away from the scene.

Kazuya just watched as the woman left the scene. “Is it okay if you don’t chase her?” He asked and Jin pulled away from him. Hearing no answer from the older man, Kazuya continued to glare at him and say, “No, it’s not okay! Didn’t you see how sad she was?”

“Yeah, she’s mad.” Jin answered uninterestedly and calmly as he walked inside the building. “But that’s great, aren’t you happy?” He stopped and turned back to the other man. The latter looked irritated again and asked, “What do you mean by that?”

“Don’t you like me?” Jin said monotonously, saying it as if it’s the most normal thing in the world. Kazuya’s eyes widened at what he said as silence filled them both again. “So, when is your concert? Where?” The older man asked.

“No. 17 at Muntao Stadium,” The younger man answered in a low voice.

“You want me to attend,” Jin started. “That useless concert?” Hearing no reply, he continued. “You are not really in love with me, are you?”

“No!”

“Sorry, go and find someone else. I’m not interested in boys.” The tall man entered the building as Kazuya’s hands drew into fists because of his losing patience.

“Wait.” The younger boy said. “Stop!” He continued as Jin entered the elevator and it was about to close when Kazuya’s hand stopped it and got inside as well. “I didn’t ask you to come!” He said exhilarated.

“Don’t get it wrong, you bastard. Can you really understand my song? If you think I’m rubbish, then why do you care about me? Why do you say things like that to me intentionally? How could you just hurt people like this?” His ranting suddenly stopped when Jin glared at him with his dark yet powerful eyes.

“Shut up.” Jin whispered as he leaned in closer to Kazuya until the latter’s back finally hit the wall and one of the older man’s arms trapped him there. “You are too annoying. Why do you look at me with that kind of expression?”

Kazuya didn’t know what else to say as he just stared into the older man’s entrancing eyes with a hint of fear and regret.

“Say it,” Jin whispered as he leaned in closer to his face until their lips met in a long, tender kiss.

Author’s Notes: WHEW! First chapter, finally done! I can’t believe this chapter took me 2 hours to write because I’m watching the anime while writing this fic. I never thought that basing a fic from an anime or any other ready-made plot would be this hard. =_=;

ANYWAY, what do you think? Ü Gravitation will definitely one of my favorite animes of all time. And now converting the characters into the JE characters is total win! In the mean time, I think this one will be the fic that I could update as soon as possible. LOL. And did I mention before that I’m in a hiatus? Hahahaha.

To
semm-san, I’m sorry if it doesn’t really go along with your expectations but I did my best! ^-^;;
