(no subject)
i had a great weekend. went to miami and back and then over to orlando in one day! had a picnic with some of my favorite people and spent some time with vanessssa. a trip to my grandma's and a banquet later, and it was monday morning.
this morning i decided where i would be going to school in the fall.
after months of applying, auditioning, comparing and debating, i've finally decided to go to stetson this fall. they are offering me a pretty good amount of money to play viola there, and i just don't have any reason to say no. it's a great school, and i'm glad to finally have my mind made up.
UF and FSU just weren't what i was looking for, in terms of a small and intimate school setting. after finding out how much stetson was willing to offer, i called furman to let them know, and they agreed to try to raise their scholarship.
last night the string professor left a voicemail explaining how much they were willing to raise it, and what they were offering just wasn't enough. so i guess my decision was kind of made for me. either way, i'm happy with my choice and i'm starting to actually get excited about going to college, as opposed to freaked/stressed out and ridiculously indecisive. i still can't believe that i waited until THEEEE LAST MINUTE to make up my mind. my confirmation was actually a day late.
other than that little bit of resolution in my life, everything is going pretty crazy. graduation is fast approaching and i'm working on turning in late work and bringing up my grade. who knew that skipping school so often could affect my gpa?
i am also putting on a recital with two of my best friends, and everyone is invited. it's on thursday may 19th (yes, i know that's your birthdays thea and megan, heh) at 5:30 at my church (contact me if you want any more information!). i'm frantic about being ready, and feel really unprepared so far, but hopefully it will all work out.
elizabeth is fantastic and amazing and i love babysitting her even when her two-year-old independence thing kicks in and she isn't all that pleasant. i'm going to be a mess leaving her next fall, which means i'll work as much as possible all summer long.
does anyone know anyone else going to stetson next year? i'm just curious because i can't think of anyone.
