the dietrichs got publically and brutally thrashed this past friday on the radio. of the many creative suggestions, my personal favorite is that we should all burn our instruments. but i have my consolations, even if they are simply circumstantial

You forgot to include that they compared us to David Bowie, and that the one dude said, "Hey, we don't know... maybe the dietrichs are the future of music..."
Of course I'm only focusing on the positive.

I think something really good will come out of it, and I think we are stronger for going through it. I think you are expecially strong for taking the brunt of it on the phone!

also, im pretty sure they didnt say anything about us being boring or unoriginal. which would be my nightmare.

I think that everything about the Dietrichs' first national radio experience was SO AWESOME! I am so insanely proud of you guys and too be honest, until you're famous enough to pay people to read and listen to your bad reviews for you, you'll still have to deal with all of the emotions that come with hearing your art get bashed but I think you did a great job of handling yourself!

thanks! i hope we are never too famous to read our own reviews. i do hope that that show gets SO many emails about us that they dont know what to do with themselves.

when they were giving their oh so constructive criticism, i wasn't even sad, i was just pissed. every single person who called was an OLD WHITE DUDE! also, the female DJ prides herself on having a long tongue. they're also all really ugly. you did such a great job of taking the brunt of it, and when you guys are famous i can't wait 'til they invite you back on their show and you punch them all in the face.

i noticed that the people who called sounded like guys that frequent sports bars, im not hurt by them. i mean, the guy that said "does your cd come with a huge aspirin?" is competing the the other guy that said "this cd should only be printed in braille." for the Insult-So-Dumb-It-Doesnt-Even-Really-Hurt-My-Feelings-And-Kinda-Makes-Me-Sad-For-You-Award.

and i cant wait to punch them in the face too.

well, thank you. the radio is awful, its true. and we aren't commercial. and the lsiteners probably all think that lifted trucks are really cool. not a good combo for music criticism.

You know what I think. You are better than Nickelback. A bunch of Bros who wear white baseball caps and love Dave Matthews wouldn't know quality if it bit them on the ass. The demographic that listens to that show only like music they are told to like- and fortunately for you, you guys aren't at all typical.

I love that they didn't like you. It means you're doing something right.
