I hope this isn't a weird question but will it take a long time for his bits to heal? I'm wondering because when we de-sexed our boy cat, the vet didn't think it was necessary for him to even wear a cone since it was such a small cut and it would heal quickly enough. But maybe it's a size difference or the operation is different? :F
It's not a weird question at all answering this kind of thing doesn't bother me at all.
The only reason our vet insisted on the cone was so he wouldn't lick or pull at his stitches, allowing them to heal better. Since your cat is a smaller animal he would of had a much smaller incision (when compared to that of a great dane) so in all likelihood it would heal faster, but since I haven't owned cats I can't say for sure.
It probably is the size difference then. I can't for the life of me remember if my boy cat even got any stitches but if he did, it would have been just one or two.
He did get a lot of cuddles and a few treats to distract him from the annoying cone. HAHA his revenge has already come in the form of waking up every two hours from 2AM onwards because he couldn't get comfortable in the cone.
