Must admit that I am currently not reading a lot of incomplete stories anymore mainly because of the reason that you also mentioned. I get really invested in stories and their characters' lives and lately I got more and more disappointed by the fact that so many writers were abandoning their stories. It made me quite sad and I just couldn't bring myself to reading updates anymore.
That being said, I do completely understand that the pressure that comes with wanting to finish a story (and finish it in a way that satisfies both your readers and you) can become quite stressful. And if you combine that with not really "feeling" your characters anymore, I get that there comes a time that you have to decide to no longer try to force yourself to write it anymore.
I do love your stories and will definitely keep reading your completed work (yes, I still need to finish LCKM - haven't forgotten about that).
Thanks for your honesty, and don't stress about all this too much because in the end in your own happiness and well-being is the most

Do what you gotta do :)dreamssincerityOctober 25 2013, 12:47:43 UTC
Though I'll admit I am dissapointed that there's a chance I won't get to read the ending to a story, as I hate not knowing how it ends I can totally understand what you feel. I've always done things for me so what others thought never mattered as much though if they liked my videos or graphics that has always been a plus and it does make me smile. At some point we will all feel the way you're feeling now.
I have to learn how to write for myself again, instead of writing for everyone else. When I write to please others, I just worry about letting them down and the stress is too much. I need to get over that hurdle.
This part is exactly what you should do. Of course I hope this will help you finish Bet Me, but first and foremost I want you to be okay.
I have to ask though. If you never end the story, could you post a small post that explains how you would have ended it?

I promise you, if I never finish Bet Me, I'll let you know exactly what I had planned. The story was always finished in my head. I really do hope to finish it :)
Oh Michelle, I cannot hide I feel sad but I do understand that´s what you have to do for yourself (and possibly the story or any other one that you may write in the future) right now (You know it´s right just not right now...":). I do believe you have the story, the right words inside and you will find them. That you find your (and they are yours, truly!) characters. You know we all are ALWAYS with you! Thank you for thinking of us. *big hugs* Eva
Hope You Get Inspiredmak75231October 25 2013, 13:44:43 UTC
I do understand, and if the inspiration's gone, you don't feel you're doing yourself justice. I say take the time you need. If this story never gets an ending, then sobeit. Don't ever question your writing abilities! You can and will write and finish many more, you have a gift!
I can imagine this was a difficult decision for you. I commend you for doing what you need to do. I love your writing and I am always happy to read any of your updates. take care
