You're very right. Everyone conforms to something. But the difference between the true noncomformist & the trendy: The trendy conforms because he feels the need to belong. The nonconformist doesn't like the idea of conformity, but does/listens to/wears/etc. whatever they like anyway. Yes, the noncomformist will conform, but unintentionally.
