I love you to death, Lauren, but I have to fight you on this one. Prom has its own special rules in terms of high school tradition. Not like Homecoming, not like football games or dress-up days or Grad Nite.

Prom is what you make of it. There's something in the air that melts away all of the usual rules... I did all of the other events, I went to 3 Homecomings, and 2 Proms, generally filled with painful and pointless moments...but Prom 2003, my own, was one of the most wonderful times I've ever had. And when you're in love, you feel as though the entire night is catered to you.

Don't miss this chance, love. Let down your guard, I swear, it's worth it.
