dogs don't understand moving. they sniff boxes and suitcases but they don't understand that someone is leaving, they think gone means going to the store then coming back in an hour. people understand goodbyes, dogs don't. you're there then you are gone and sooner or later they just forget. saying goodbye to a dog is harder.
