The dialogue had GREAT flow. I recognized some of it from the original but your additions were a perfect match. "I don't care if he hates me!" Kris explodes. "This isn't about me! This isn't about him!" cracked me up but also aww :"( Kris :"( Major props for successfully engaging someone with next-to-no interest in American politics, I think that says a lot. As mentioned above -- the yunjae part was what clinched it for me. Pretty much a hilly battle from there ( ... )

omg first of all ty~~~~ so much for this comment. I think obviously people have many different ways of writing a remix but for me I always love going back through the original fic and mining what I loved from the source material, so that was really fun, to rework things like Baekhyun's summary of Kris' sex life in a different context. WRITING THE YUNJAE WAS LIKE PULLING TEETH but lbr if i needed one SM idol to be ~the perfect politician~ in this AU, it could have only been Yunho ( ... )

this is so goodi loved all the grounding details and inside jokes, so fun to read and really fleshed out the political milieu (i'll totally admit when i saw this was 2016 i had a quick BUT HILLARY?? moment but then lol jepp blackman). chanyeol vs. nate silver, kris' JED BARTLET i actually cried, glenn beck's fortune cookie because he fucking would, how the narrative gets filtered through media outlets - that entire section about yunjae and then kris' gay rights (non)stance made me flinch, so well done. also i can't express enough how much i adored krisbaek's relationship?? kris' entire staff was a joy (the kris/kris wedding cake, jongin being jumpy in every universe, WU-ZHANG CLAN i cried again), but baekhyun especially, all the ways he challenges but supports kris, has an incredibly realistic understanding of the situation, perf shortass campaign manager ;;; FINALLY the actual kris/tao... i dunno their background together and everything was so on point what else do i say, i loved kris' inner struggle with the kind of person he wants ( ... )

I AM SO GLAD ALL THE POLITICS JOKES WORKED FOR SOMEONE you know that kris is the kind of person who would watch and weep over the west wing and baekhyun is just like "omg it's not even relevant politics it's all rhetoric" and kris is like SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP. Kris and Baekhyun's relationship was such a joy already in the original story, like you could tell they had already been through so much, and I just, IDK, I love that dynamic when you know someone so well you can reign them in, and part of me wishes I had remixed it to make them the OTP.... but lol maybe it hurts more this way...... or at least i hope so. I wish I had like 5k more words?! so I could write all the bitter and tense Zitao and Kris shouting at each other in the world for you, but probably it was best that I was cut off at my knees or else it would all end in birther conspiracies and penis-pics-on-twitter madness.

THE WUZHANG CLAN JOKE WAS THE ONLY ONE WORTH MAKING. thank you so much for reading and leaving this comment sob what if you wrote us more superhero au ( ... )

It was incredibly beautiful and the story really earned it's heartbreaking conclusion. I loved Kris' voice, he wants to be president and he moderates his own views and sacrifices a lot of what would be authentic to him because he has tempered it with a past experience and a good sense of realism. I really liked how a moderate was written into a character who is doing his best. I really liked how he has always put aside his feelings so that he can achieve what he most wants, and this story is about how he puts aside something that means a lot to him (perhaps what is the second most important thing) so he can do the most important thing and live up to his own ideals. It hit really deep, I can't explain it properly ( ... )

Man...the reality of poltics...I like this remix of the initial story even if it's not as optimistic as the the original.

To lead you have compromise your personal desires for the better of your followers

Wu Zhang Clan though
