Our tree is still up. When we got it, I was telling my friends at school that now that we made the transition to a fake one, we could leave it up all year round. Pretty lights! Then my friend Liz says, yeah and decorate it with different themes! She thought I would take that as a joke! Hahahaha

We have a lava lamp. It is the best child/grandparent entertainer we've ever owned. If we'd known it would be so popular, we would have held off and bought a bunch for Christmas gifts...

as far as the lamp goes, I think it would be lovely in the bedroom. Would definitely set a mood, not sure which one, but it would be interesting to see...

i secretly like those fur blankets, remember a friend having a panda bear one. they are very comforting to curl up under.

my pretty, and heritagelly (?) correct tartan blankies are too scratchy. you lost me on the plastic light things, though.

but keep the tree up! that's awesome! we kept a fake tree up for months in our last place, the kids had a ball hanging various toys from it all the time.

in our house we NEVER take down holiday decorations...we just put new ones on top..depending on the season.
