I know I really shouldn't be surprised, but damn I'm embarrassed. And angry, duh, but right now mostly embarrassed. I'm hoping we get a chance to return to the polls as soon as possible, that's for sure.

Ha, yeah like all those times I read about someone with the flu on my flist, then all of a sudden it's in my kids' school. Knock it off, you guys! :)

I can't even imagine what the political climate is like up there. Oh wait, I can! I lived in Alberta, after all! LOL What's really sad is that my old riding in Edmonton (the ONLY non-conservative riding in AB) fell last night in the blue sweep.

I give them nine months... Basically the Libs won't rock the boat until they've got their shiny new leader, and then we'll be off to the polls again.

Yeah, I'm just hoping for minimum damage while we wait.

Ah, well. It happens to the best of us. And it could be worse, of course -- at least there's not a majority to ram all his conservation bullshit through.

As much as I'm appalled, a minority gov't gets its power tempered quite a bit. But Harper as PM! Ew! Ew! Ew!

Were you in Jack Layton's riding when you were in TO?

Oh, and Brian told me something last night about if it's a minority government the PM can ask the GG to keep him on as leader, or something like that. But it doesn't look like Martin is going to do that.

I remember when GWB got elected I kept thinking, "How much damage can he do?" It's scary how much can change in a short time. I hope this government doesn't last long.
