angst, hurt/comfort

That one gesture changed everything between them… and ruin all the joy they should’ve felt.

Woohyun stared at the trophy before him. Beautiful, he thought. Simply beautiful.
He held the item close to his chest, reminiscing the touching moment of their first win. Their very first win since debut. Finally.
He planted a kiss onto the trophy’s head, utterly thankful for the reward, honestly grateful to God for granting him-and his whole group, all the members, everyone!-with such an honor, an honor so wonderful, so great, an honor he never thought he would experience so soon.
A hand snatched the trophy away before his lips can reach it, and Woohyun jumped in his spot, surprised by the sudden action. Two angry orbs gazed back into his, and he main singer feigned a straight face.
“What’s wrong, Howon-ah?” He asked casually to the other party, as he grasped on the trophy to take it back, but Hoya had a strong hold to it, and the dancer didn’t seem like he would back away soon.
Hoya’s glare intensified at the nonchalant tone Woohyun used. “You.” He replied, tone slightly irate. The other raised his eyebrows.
“What about me?” Woohyun inquired, acting innocent and oblivious and clueless, as he did his second attempt into grabbing the trophy back. His effort was futile though, and he heard a small growl from the main dancer.
Hoya gazed deeply into the other’s brown eyes, trying to read or catch any signs of the emotions Woohyun was trying to hide. The main singer was fairly good at it, and he sure knew how good he was at it, since a smirk then adorned his lips.
Scoffing, Hoya used his non occupied hand to pull Woohyun into a kiss. He forcefully grabbed the other’s head, and smashed their lips together. The main singer gasped in surprise, and like what happens at any other forced kiss, Hoya took the opportunity to make use of his tongue.
Woohyun was quick to respond though, and he shoved Hoya away, slapping him right on the cheek in the process. “Are you crazy? We’re in the waiting room now!” He yelled to him. Hoya rubbed his pained cheek, and gawked at the older boy, his other hand still gripping strongly on the trophy (it was funny how both of their hands were still holding onto the award firmly).
“Why’s that a problem? Everyone here practically knows we’re together.” He retorted, his eyes never leaving Woohyun’s face, studying his features, looking for a flaw within the perfect poker face he had. Hoya had a point though, and besides, there wasn’t even anyone there in the room with them.
“The fans could’ve seen, Howon.” Woohyun responded, his voice raised, infuriated.
Hoya merely stared blankly in return. “So what if they see? Are they gonna hate me then for breaking up the lovely pairing WooGyu?”
Woohyun gulped. He gazed at Hoya, noticing the restrained rage on the younger’s expression. The main dancer cocked his head to the side a bit, smirking knowing how right on spot he was.
“Stop. We’re done with this since ages ago. You knew the consequences, and you agreed to deal with it.” Woohyun hissed, displeased by the fact that his lover brought up an old topic that should have been settled, a topic that should have never been discussed anymore.
Hoya moved his body forward, now staring straight into the older one’s eyes. “We never agreed that I could not touch you at all in public. We never agreed that even when my boyfriend has tears running down his face, I could not come to him and give him a comforting hug.” He stated, clearly angry and upset.
The main singer pursed his lips. “I have an image to keep, Howon. You’re the one who went too far in filming, and now face the consequences. I can’t be seen with you too often. We can’t be seen intimate with each other. It’ll break the family order the fans have created.” He uttered, his hand on the other’s chest, pushing him away, giving distance between them.
Hoya growled angrily. “Just for the sake of a fake freaking family order?” He was furious, to be honest, he could not believe he was that easy to sacrifice.
“I’m doing it for the band!” Woohyun cried, frustrated by the lack of understanding from his lover. “Stop being childish.”
Hoya stood up on his feet, he could not take this nonsense anymore. “How is just wanting to give you one friendly, consoling hug childish?!” He shouted, enraged. “How is your image so important to protect when we all were overwhelmed by complete happiness when we knew we finally…” He halted, the trophy in his hand was held high, a poignant memory being replayed in his head. He bit his lips, preventing any tears from coming down and making him look stupid at such a serious moment. “Was it wrong that I just wanted to wipe your tears away, Woohyun?”
The said boy remained silent. He admitted he did let his ego take over a bit. He didn’t intend to push the other so harshly and sadden him this much.
“No.” He muttered. “I’m sorry. I pushed you on reflex and I wasn’t thinking straight.” He looked at the younger boy, guilt and regret filling his heart. “I’m really sorry.”
Hoya wasn’t buying it though. “You sure?” He asked, tone mocking, as he placed the trophy down on the dresser’s table. He leaned on the said table. “I bet if it was Sunggyu-hyung, you would’ve reacted differently.” He sent a glare to the other. Woohyun clenched his teeth, vexed. “Isn’t that what the fans want, hmm?”
The main singer nearly flinched at both the harsh tone and harsh expression the younger boy wore. “Look, I’m sorry I pushed you away before, but we had a deal. We have to prioritize the fans over everything.” He said, but Hoya still looked gloomy despite the truth Woohyun had spoken. “It’s not easy on me either, Howon-ah, but I learned to deal with it. You should too.”
Woohyun gazed at the younger boy, sincerely hoping that he would take his words into account. He didn’t sense the slightest bit of change of expression from the dancer.
“The deal was we agree to do fanservice with other members, no matter how daring it was, just to make the fans happy. The deal was that both of us will have to hold back our feelings for each other and try to display such kind of affection with the others.” Hoya stated, reminding the elder of the treaty they both approved. “That was the deal. And what happened before was out of it. Unless the deal also implies that our relationship is non-existent in public’s sphere, or an approval to have personal attachment to these certain members we display affection with.” He glanced at the elder, and he caught a hint of remorse on Woohyun’s face, and he never expected to actually experience how a heart breaks.
Woohyun didn’t say anything in return. He stayed quiet, his eyes looking at the floor, unable to gaze at his lover’s eyes, or look at him in the face, in that matter.
Hoya swallowed bitterly. He scoffed at the lack of response, and the pain in his chest intensified at the fact, at the cruel reality he was facing. “Wow… Sorry I didn’t read the contract properly.” He remarked. He intended it as a joke, but his grieved tone gave it away.
Woohyun couldn’t find himself to reply.
Hoya stared at his lover sadly, his heart slowly shattering into pieces at the sight, at the truth. He stood upright, ready to leave. “Then… Because I’m such a klutz who can’t even read a contract right… I guess we should call it off. And end this affiliation of ours.” He moved pass the main singer and walked out, exiting the room, not even sparing another glance at the now heartbroken boy, drowning in his sorrow and remorse.
Woohyun let his gaze linger on the spot that belonged to Hoya only minutes ago, and their conversation replayed in his head, the pain in his heart only multiplying by every second. He shifted and rose from his seat, and he contemplated on whether he should go after his (ex) lover or not. His gaze fell onto their winning trophy, the award still standing ever so proudly, and Woohyun had a sudden urge to laugh at how the best and worst thing of his life can happen on the same day, within hours. He fingers brushed the head of the trophy, stroking it, realizing how absolutely precious it was, maybe as precious as Hoya was to him.
A tear fell without warning, and Woohyun found himself sobbing uncontrollably, his tears falling endlessly, and he couldn’t point out properly why.
He clutched the trophy in his hand, as more and more droplets of water poured onto it, drenching it, staining it with sorrow and agony-nothing of the emotions someone should feel while holding such reward.
Woohyun sniffed, sobbed, but no matter how hard he tried, the tears won’t stop, his eyes would not let him lie to himself anymore.
A click of the door, followed by a presence none other than Lee Sungjong, the magnae of Infinite, who made his way into the waiting room. He wanted to rejoice the winning moment once more, he wanted to feel and take note of how precious the trophy was to him.
“Hyung~?” He called out with his usual cheery tone. A few steps ahead and he found the object he was looking for-with the addition of the third oldest member of the group broken into tears, their first victory trophy within his grasp. He smiled gently, pulling the older man into a hug. “Aww hyung… Don’t cry.” He patted Woohyun on the shoulder, comforting him. “Well, not again. But I get how touching it is… I mean, our first win!”
Woohyun paused, his nose buried into the crook of Sungjong’s neck. The magnae had misunderstood him for crying from the win. He chuckled lightly, and hugged the youngest back, only tighter. He let his tears pour freely in the younger’s embrace, as remorse and shame slowly ate him alive.
The youngest member brushed his hyung’s tears away with his hand, before giving him a soft, comforting smile. “Crying is okay, but not too much Hyung… Instead, smile! No celebration goes with tears…” He said to the older boy, and looking at maknae’s warm smile, Woohyun strived to at least move his lips upward even the slightest.
Sungjong broke into a triumphant grin. “Hoya-hyung said that to me before. It calmed me down and made me feel lighter.”
Woohyun gulped his saliva indignantly. It calmed me down and made me feel lighter. How unlucky he was to actually feel the opposite way.

a/n: OMG what is this angsty fic! I apologize sincerely to all WooYa stans for not fulfilling their WooYa crave due to huge lack of WooYa but instead only gave you this fail!angst fic. I’m deeply sorry. /bows
And if your WooYa radar is as strong as mine, then I bet you spotted the tiny WooYa moment when the boys won at M!Countdown. Woohyun was crying uncontrollably, then Hoya came to him and hugged him (with a huge smile on his face!), before Woohyun shoved him away and cried alone… I swear I caught the disappointed look on Hoya’s face! And idek, somehow from that, this fic is produced…. I started making this at 2 a.m. in the morning, so please forgive any mistakes… Word didn’t underline anything else kay, so it should be okay~! /grins innocently
This was one of quite spur-of-the-moment fics… The idea popped up right after I saw the winning video and I just started writing afterwards… This only took me two days and my fics usually take a lot more time than that, so again, I apologize if it’s plotless and random… I just needed to vent out somehow.
I have started writing a LOT other WooYa fics, but most some got stuck in the middle, but I’m trying hard to complete them, because I really like the ideas… It’s sad how fics with ideas I really like are mostly discontinued, while fics with random ideas can be finished and eventually be posted… I’m sorry. I’m a fail author. /bows
BUT! To make up for the angstyness, I will post a fluffy random WooYa, sometime in this week… I warn you, the fluffy random WooYa fic is lame, I’m very unsatisfied with it, but because I don’t want any WooYa stans to be depressed, so I’ll post it anyway… I tried to make it better, but I ran out of ideas… Hopefully it’s not that lame to actually put some smiles on you. :)
Anyway, thank you for reading! I promise to give to you happier WooYa next time!! ^^
oh and one more thing welcome to my new tag genre: angst finally i write something else than fluff xD
Love,
me! ♥ ♥
