( I’m greeted with the strangest sight in the world when I arrive home that afternoon: Effie Trinket. Surrounded by lights and cameras. In my living room. )

I have been enjoying this immensely. However, since only recently non-members are able to comment, this is the first time I will. The readers got to see a different side of Effie, which is nice. She might come off as one-dimensional, but she really isn't. Thank you for showing that "other side". It makes total sense for Katniss to throw herself at Gale when she gets confused. Very plausible. Peeta...he annoys me sometimes, how nice he is especially in the last chapter. . I did enjoy the teasing Prim gave during dinner. Thank you again, for writing this. :)

thanks! :) Effie is really enjoyable to write, IMO - I think there are definitely a lot of unexplored angles to her.

Ooooh the visit from Effie was a surprise! You keep surprising me with things like this in this story!!

I don't even KNOW Astrid, but I really hope she makes it through. :(

Ah... I like your characterization of Gale so far. Too many stories make him out to be what the fic writer would want in a guy and neglect his actual characteristics.

I'm a Gale lover, so I'm probably not going to like where this fic is going, ship-wise. You seem to be heading toward Peeta endgame. :(

But you're doing a great job, and I can certainly appreciate a good fic even if it's not my pairing!

thank you! you're right that this is going to end up more of a K/P fic - but I think Gale would've been a very plausible partner for Katniss if the games hadn't happened, and I think it's interesting to explore how that could've developed. I'm really glad you're still enjoying it even if it might not end up being your favorite ship :)
