ok for those reading this, i know the html is a little screwy, but we seriously went back and forth about 5 times trying to get it right and something very odd was happening, so this is as good as it gets.

thanks.
blind date was perhaps, the second or third piece i'd ever written... 1935 was a year later. i'm untrained in every aspect of writing, from critiques to the actual art form. i gut write... and need to learn the art of editing.
thank you for your very honest comments in both areas! glad you lurked. aha!

I think what would help a lot (and has helped me) is to go to the bookstore and read some how to's. If you go to my application ( I was accepted once then became inactive), you will see I had much of the same concerns as you did.
The Two books I am reading now are: Your First Novel by Ann Rittenburg and Laura Whitcomb Writing fiction by Gotham Writer's Workshop Faculty
The second I believe would be the most helpful if you want to become more serious about writing. :-)
Hi, :) I apologise that this is a little late but I've been away. Firstly, thank you for choosing my piece. It's actually based partly on the true story of the MS Explorer aka The Little Red Ship which sank in Antarctica. http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200711/r205794_783424.jpg I'd been on her the year before, and she'd taken a special place in all of our hearts. We loved that ship and were in tears when we saw the pictures of her demise.
As for your writing, I think that you're very talented. These are only short pieces yet still you manage to convey incredibly vivid stories. I would love to see you try something longer. Blind Date especially, was well structured and presented.
I realise that this community is closed now *tear* but if it counts for anything, you had my vote.
