I hope this wasn't your light and happy fic! Well, with Sawyer there always is lots of funny throw away lines like you have here, one where you can hear his smile in the words. But with these two, and especially at this point when everything is laden with his offer to play house and it’s not sitting well. It kills me how hopeful he is and it seems she is on the brink of staying. Great extension of this moment.

Oh no, I gave up on the happy fic. I wanted it for the OTP prompt at lostfichallenge, but it was not going to happen. I don't know if I will ever finish that thing. It probably would not have been any good anyhow. Neither is this, for that matter. It was just something that was running around in my head ever since "Eggtown" and I finally just wrote it down so it would go away. It actually was intended to be more light-hearted, but obviously did not turn out that way.

I am torn over whether Sawyer truly meant what he said to Kate about wanting to stay on the island. Was he being honest for once? Or was he just saying it to try and glimpse Kate's real feelings and intentions or for some other purpose? As if she were gullible enough for that.

Thank you for always reading and giving feedback! I appreciate it so much!

Oh no, this was good. Don't say that. Even if it went in a different direction than planned, the prose was really beautiful and the characterizations were strong. I know how it feels not to be satisfied, but this was very good.

I am no expert on Sawyer and Kate but this is how I read the scene. I think asking Kate to play house was probably the most honest I have ever seen Sawyer. He wore his heart on his sleeve in that speech. Now him presenting this idea in the context of staying on the island showed how scared he was of saying this. 1) He didn't think they could be together anywhere else. 2) He was 99.9% sure she would say no in this context and that's what gave him the courage to ask in the first place.

If was indeed just a ruse then he conned me too!

I think the mod at un_love_you has pretty much disappeared, but I decided to use the table anyway, even if I do not officially have the claim.

I am really glad you enjoyed it! I feel so uncreative or unoriginal writing these little "missing pieces," but I rather obsess over what my have happened. I just got the sense in "Eggtown" that Sawyer and Kate were more intimate than we had ever seen before: the snuggling and just how they interacted in general. I also thought that it seemed like Sawyer was fully prepared for her to leave.

Thank you so much for always having such encouraging things to say. I really appreciate it more than I can say!

Hell, that was excellent! I could totally hear Sawyer with his thick accent *squee*, and the situation in general was so so so believable. Shit, I'd be like happy forever if it had actually happened.

Thank you so much! Most people seem to be sick of Sawyer and Kate, but I can't seem to stop writing them! I am very happy you liked it!

This was so beautifully written. I loved your characterizations, especially of Sawyer; the small flash of vulnerability was just perfect.

Well done!

Thanks! I am happy this worked for you.

I always wonder if Sawyer realizes that he has these tiny moments where if someone is looking closely, the would see just how venerable he really is? Maybe that is why he has those bursts of cruelty, or why he is always such a smart-ass; it is one big cover up.
