They all needed a vacation, Excellen had decided. A few clicks at the computer, and soon enough, she had e-mailed everyone at base a message with the heading "ONSEN TRIP!!" Everyone was invited, of course, even Boota. She giggled while her brain conjured up images of -- of men. (Hey, a girl was allowed to have an imagination!) It was brilliant

Men's Area

The men's area encompasses their changing area and their side of the hot springs. Rocks line the pool around the steaming hot water. It is surrounded by a bamboo wall, which also separates it from the women's baths.

Simon, having spent the day training his ass off in the gym, was nice and ready for a relaxing dip in the hot springs. He climbed in and swam to the far end of the spring, where he sat along the edge and let his muscles relax. "Man, this feels great!"

Bullet had been looking forward to the onsen trip ever since Excellen had sent out the email. It had been years since his last visit to an onsen, probably before he joined the military. With all the craziness going on in the EDF, a getaway was much needed, and appreciated.

Spotting a familiar body in the water, Bullet headed over to Simon, waving. "Hey," he called as he sat down in next to him. "How's the water?"

Mao was looking forwards to this. Between the run in with the lambda driver, a week of cellular regeneration (which always made her itch like something awful!), and the morning workouts that she went through alongside everyone else she made do it, she was incredibly stiff and sore.

Well, Rika had heard that people were heading over to the hot springs and she decided that this was a good opportunity to go without having to deal with mom or her classmates from private school.

It had been a while since the last time she'd been to one at all really, so she was looking forward to it. Hopefully nothing too crazy would happen, but she wouldn't put it past the other EDF pilots.

Kurtis sat on the floor in a lounge near the men's area, belt and pack hung up as he wore a yukata instead--in other words, more clothed than he usually was. He relaxed, casually eating from a tray of sushi--all to bely his intense inner focus.

This vacation wouldn't degrade into to any uncouth shenanigans as long as Kurtis, Defender of Earth, was around!

Of course wherever Rika was, Renamon was never too far behind. The fox digimon remained mainly in the shadows like she always did, ever watchful for any threat.

At the moment she was hidden somewhere in the lounge of the women's area, she knew Kurtis was already watching the men's area, so she didn't worry much about there. Since Ceiling Renamon is everywhere on base she had been observing the people on base, she certainly had some suspicions about Excellen's motives, but making sure people didn't peak on other people wasn't really why she was there. Well, maybe just a little.

Tieria has found a quiet corner in a lounge somewhere. Despite changing into a yukata, he shows no interest in the actual bathing area, instead intently reading a collection of Arthur C. Clarke short stories he picked up from the library. Despite his intense concentration on the book, this is about as relaxed as he gets.

Well, there wasn't anything wrong with trying to look at naked men. It was a perfectly natural thing to do. Besides, they were probably trying to do the same thing.

She'd told the other girls, in low voices in case anyone was trying to overhear, of the plan. Admittedly, she didn't quite have a plan, but the end result was "see hot naked men," and that was enough of a plan for her. Tying her bathrobe around her, she pulled an electric drill out of a pocket and started working at the bamboo wall. The men's onsen was just on the other side of the wall, and a hole would work rather well.

In more ways than one, her mind added helpfully.

Nia watched Excellen as she tied her own towel around her body, admiring her handiwork with the drill.

"Excellen, I am afraid I still don't understand," she whispered. "If it will be fun for us to see the men as they bathe, why do we not simply go over to their side and request to view them?"

Kaname stepped in at this point. "Because it's wrong to be peeking on the guys! There's a reason why we're seperated," she whispered harshly. "Excellen shouldn't be doing this."
