Sailor Moon R
You know, I always wondered how would fans feel if episode 46 was the finale episode of Sailor Moon? After defeating Queen Beryl, Usagi makes a wish to return to her normal life. Everyone is brought back to life, which is great, but then they forget they were sailor senshi and friends, and Usagi and Mamoru have no clue they were past lovers. Artemis makes a comment about how they just to need to meet again and it'll eventually work out. I sometimes think that this would have made a great final episode for the series. It just leaves you wondering, how will they meet again? I would probably read a fanfic about this. Oh well. I'm still grateful that Sailor Moon didn't stop there.
The new arc is pretty short, I think it's only 13 episodes. It was about two aliens called Ali and En (Ali + En = Alien, go figure), coming to Earth to collect energy for their special tree which gives them life. They use monsters (which always reminded me of pokemon) to collect their energy. Usagi and the other Senshi regain their memories and fight off the new enemies. The down side is that Mamoru still has no clue about who he is or his relationship with Usagi, leaving it p to her to make him remember. Ali and En go to Usagi's school where they pretend to be brother and sister. Thing is, while they say they love each other, they are disloyal to each other. Ali falls for Usagi while En falls for Mamoru. While they try to pursue them and keep making each other jealous, their tree becomes weaker (big hint later on). What's surprising about this arc is the identy of Moonlight Knight, who looks like Aladian! He wears Arabian clothes, uses white roses, and says the weirdest things. He made me miss Tuxedo Mask. Everyone thought it was Mamoru til they saw the real Mamoru and Moonlight Knight in the same room. So who is Moonlight Knight? He is Mamoru's subconscious! Mamoru lost all his memories of him as Tuxedo Mask but his will to protect Sailor Moon was so strong that it created Moonlight Knight. Weird but still romantic. I really like this short arc. It's got a lot of comedy, Sailor Moon and the Senshi get power ups, and Ali and En are pretty hilarious. But what I love the most was the ending. Ali and En thought their Tree needed energy but what it really wanted was love. Ali and En did not understand what love was and were always trying to hurt each other causing the Tree to attack them and the Senshi. Just when Ali is knocked down and is about to be strike by the Tree, En appears before Ali and takes the strike. It's a heart-breaking scene between them. All this time I hated En but when she did that to protect Ali, I realized how much she really loved him. She comes back to life and she and Ali leave with their new Tree bud which they plan to nurture it with their love. Moonlight Knight returns to Mamoru and his memories come back and it's a happy ending for them. Until Chibiusa comes.
A little pink girl falls from the sky, interrupting Usagi and Mamoru's date and demands for the Silver Crystal. Her name is Usagi like the Usagi we all love. She called Chibi-usa later on. Chibi-usa brainwashes Usagi's family that she is their cousin and stays at her house in order to search for the Silver Crystal, giving Usagi a hard time. What's worst is that after having a vision about Usagi's death, Mamoru breaks up with her. This really made me sad.
But he stills comes to her rescue as Tuxedo Mask. -___- Turns out that Chibi-usa is being targeted by these people called the Black Moon. What's refreshing about them is that for once, they are not trying to steal energy, like the others before them. They are trying to replace engery with dark energy so the points that have dark energy will not be stronger in the future, which is where they are from.
What I really, really hate in this arc is Chibi-Usa. She is cute but the second she starts being bratty to Usagi and starts to cling to Mamoru, I just wanna smack her. And Mamoru is getting irritating as well since he always spoils Chibi-usa. I know it's childish to hate on them since they have their reasons for being like that, but whenever I see Usagi crying, I can't help but hate on Mamoru for breaking up with her and Chibi-usa for starting this whole mess and still continue being a brat to Usagi. I'm considering of skipping this arc. I just can't stand a depress Usagi any longer. And I'm sick of Chibi-usa.
