That's so exciting that you're doing NaNo! Intimidates the crap out of me - but then again, creative-writing-wise I write poetry almost exclusively, so that would be a huge change. :)

Haha I'm just the opposite. Poetry is so hard for me, but I love writing stories! I finished my first novel (77,000 words) throughout the course of this summer and I've already planned the follow up book. I see this as a good opportunity to lay my new ideas down on paper!

It's so interesting, I know very few people who write both poetry and prose. The vast majority of my writerly friends and people I knew in undergrad in creative writing mostly write one and are intimidated by the other. Good luck, have fun! :)
