I'm wiggling with excitement! I'm so glad you understood my meanderings, it's something I've been thinking about for a long time. Western attitudes are so strange when compared to the Eastern. The performing arts itself has only recently (meaning within the last sixty years recently) regained its status as a socially acceptable profession. Even in it's heyday while being offered as tribute, actors (remember, historically, acting was a male dominated profession) were socially ranked with prostitutes. Nice enough for dinner centerpieces, but you wouldn't want your sister to marry one. When females joined the stage, they were frequently assumed to be prostitutes, whether they deserved it or not. Patronage, a nice word for ownership, was considered necessary to an actress's survival both professionally and personally. Even now, an actor's personal life is considered public property and, frequently, the public isn't able to differentiate the part from the person; the fantasy from the reality. Now I'm thinking of Coach Tanaka/Beiste, and it's strangely working. He just wanted to love someone so much.

But yes. I may or may not have a Beiste/OMC romance in the works. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to run with it, but God- she needs some happiness. I keep telling myself that if it happens largely off-screen, it's not too self indulgent (even though it completely is). *Chin stroke*

Beiste is the most incredible female character on that show, and they totally yanked what made her so relatable (but strong) and made it a cheap Sue plotline. Glee. We need to have a talk about your crippling dependence on love geometrics.

Oh and I forgot from my original comment: I love that Kurt worries about what would have happened to Santana if it weren't for Glee club, and that he thinks of it as everyone having screwed up with him and doing better with her. Because they really did screw up with him, heh.

Also, Blaine's bad night at the club made me cringe so much! I felt embarrassed for him, doing such a poor job, but also angry on his behalf about being condescended to and snarked at. And Jackson's "It's depressing to look at you" reminded me a lot of Santana, LOL.

I think Kurt is a master of the what-if game. The only reason I Kissed A Girl happened was because of what Kurt went through in season 2. No one can convince me otherwise.

I'm glad it made you cringe, as awful as it is to say. The night with Kurt affected a lot more than he realized, and the club was the perfect place to demonstrate that.

LOL. If it helps, in my head, Jackson looks like Clint Eastwood. He's Clint Eastwood with Santana's attitude. God help Blaine.

Even though I have many tabs open of stories I'd like to read, and stories of my own I want to be writing, I drop everything whenever a new chapter of this is posted. It's fascinating. I love the way Kurt and Blaine interact, testing each other and opening up a little at a time. I love that Blaine wears cardigans and Kurt can't wrap his head around it. I really want to know what Blaine has to say about Glee club.I have stories that I follow like that too, so that's really amazing to hear. Thank you

THIS. I always tell people that I wouldn't relive high school if my life depended on it. Not that I'm exactly well-rounded as an adult, but so many people made me hate myself back then. There is a girl that I'm friendly with at work who has admitted numerous instances of when she bullied her classmates. She still thinks it was justified and even funny. I always take it upon myself to explain to her just how damaging her actions might have been.

That being said...I really do adore the friendship between Blaine & Beiste. I love how he isn't afraid to touch her and is just so normal around her. Beiste's softer side on the show has always affected me and I'm so glad you're bringing it out here. :)

I got out okay. I was friends with some of the popular kids, and made friends with the unpopular ones too. I had a social status that just never fully defined itself, and it left me out of the loop. I think that high school is generally pretty awful, and a few of my dearest friends were bullied to drastic points. Cast systems are so hard. I'm glad you're talking to your friend about her attitude. That's terrible.

I will make a more coherent comment on this whole story when I can manage to unravel all the FEELINGS, because they are a bowl of noodles somewhere near my heart right now. There are a lot of them.

I just had to stop by really quickly and say this gif is perfect, and Dot looks so gorgeous in it, I want Darren to just snuggle up to her. IT IS PERFECT FOR THIS STORY. This story is perfect.
