“Kei,” Sho called quietly, poking the sleeping vampire in the head. Kei had just so happened to be resting on the couch, in the middle of a bright afternoon, covered half way in his red jacket.

“Mm?” he asked, opening an eye. “What is it?” The little boy tilted his head, so his large eyes were even with the small vampire’s.

“Why do grownups kiss like that?” Sho asked, holding up a magazine of a overly pretty couple lip locking.

“Um…because that’s how grownups do it Sho.” Kei replied, shutting his eyes once more.

“How come?”

“Grownups kiss people like that…because they love each other very much, more then anyone in the world.” The ancient man explained, opening his eyes again.

“How come children can’t do it?” Sho asked, his eyebrows furrowing.

“Children don’t know what that kind of love is.”

“Can you tell me?” the boy asked, sitting on the chair, refusing to leave his caregiver alone to sleep.

“No.”

“Why not?”

“It’s not something I can just tell you…you have to find out for yourself.” Kei sighed, his eye twitching. The day he thinks he can sleep…the little one just HAD to come bug him.

“What if…what if I loved YOU Kei? Would you kiss me like that?” Sho asked innocently. The vampire was sitting up right in a blink of an eye.

“WHA?!” he asked, getting paler then usual.

“What? What did I say?” Sho asked, feeling bad for asking. He didn’t want to say something bad, or do something bad…and he didn’t want his caregiver to hate him either.

“Why would you love me? I’m a vampire, I’m old as dirt, and I’m like your dad.” Kei ranted, his eye twitching.

“But you’re not my dad.” Sho said stubbornly, sitting on his lap. “I love you Kei.” The blonde wanted to find a hole to cry in at this, but instead he rested his forehead against the child’s.

“Let’s wait ten years, if you still think you love me then…well…come back and try this again. Kay?” he asked, giving him a confident smile. Yep that should end it, there’s NO WAY he’d remember this.

Kei was sitting on the couch, reading a book…lost in the author’s world…when all of a sudden, the book was removed from his hands. “Kei,” Sho called softly, a strange smile on his face.

“Huh?” the vampire asked, nervously. The human’s smile grew a bit more, as he rested his hands on either side of the small man. Sho nuzzled him lightly, practically crawling into his lap. “What are you doing?” Kei asked, gawking at the eighteen year old.

“It’s been ten years.”

“Huh? Ten years since what?” the ancient man asked, giving him a quizzical look. A chuckle escaped Sho, as he pinned his object of his attraction to the couch.

“You told me…exactly ten years ago…to this day…that if I still had feelings for you, you’d let me.” The young man purred lightly, making Kei’s hair stand on end.

“Let you what?” Kei asked, not really remembering. Sho’s lips gently covered his caregiver’s. His tongue gently flicked over Kei’s lips, asking for entrance. The vampire found himself caving almost instantly. He wrapped an arm around the young man’s waist, pulling him completely on his lap. Sho took his face in his hands, as the kiss deepened.

When Sho pulled back, he grinned. “Kiss you.” he whispered his reply. “I still love you…I love you more then I did then…and against your hopes, it continued to grow. I think it’ll get worse the older I get. So…can I kiss you like this more?”

“Um…I guess.” Kei mumbled, blushing and looking elsewhere. It’s funny that he remembers…but I was the one who forgot. Sho smiled, before turning him to face him again. He kissed him lovingly, before pulling back.

“I see that you enjoyed it….a little too much.” They both looked down at Kei’s lap.

“Shut up Sho.” Kei grumbled, blushing all the more.

“So…when can we-?”

“Ten years.” Kei said flatly. Sho’s eyes grew to the size of baseballs.

“TEN YEARS?!” he asked.

“If you can wait that long for a kiss…remembering it….then let’s see how good you are with the next step.” Kei mocked, and with that, he hopped off the couch, and walked off, humming a pleasant tune.
