[character personality]: Judith is a Krityan, a race of elf-like people native to the world she comes from, but it is repeatedly noted that she is a very strange example of her race. Krityan’s are known for being peaceful and bookish, and they live in isolated cities away from the rest of the world’s population. Judith, on the other hand, would rather dive face first into adventure, sees physical violence as a valid (and satisfying) solution to problems, and prefers to travel from place to place rather than being tied to any one location. Ten years prior to the game, her village was destroyed and she was orphaned in the Great War, and she briefly was taken in by another Krityan village, but she couldn’t stand that way of life. As such, she struck out on her own, living a life of wandering with only the companionship of Ba’ul, an Entelexeia who saved her life during the war. Independent and confident, she would likely tell anyone who asked that that life suited her better than anything else ever would have.

Probably the first thing anyone would notice about Judith upon meeting her is that she wears very little clothing. She has an amazing figure, and she flaunts it mercilessly. She isn’t the slightest bit bothered by people staring at her notably well-endowed chest--she encourages it, in fact! Though as much as she shows off and flirts with people, one gets the impression that it would be very difficult to actually get anywhere with her. The way she goes about it has a very “look, don’t touch” quality to it. She dresses and acts the way she does to give herself an advantage. At one point in the game, she comments that she wouldn’t have minded if she and the other girls had put on a bit of a show for the guys peeping at the hot springs, because they could have had them wrapped around their little fingers.

Despite how much she flaunts herself physically, she tends to keep the rest of herself hidden. Judith has an excellent poker face. In fact, she’s a very good gambler, enough so that rumors follow her regarding a Krityan that wipes casinos out of business (though she insists these stories are highly exaggerated). But she keeps that face on nearly all the time, not just when she’s trying to win a game of cards. Her typical facade is calm, cool, and mysterious, and while not unfriendly, she also isn’t particularly talkative. She’ll answer questions people ask, but only to the extent that she thinks they need to know the answer. In most cases, she’s perfectly content with people knowing practically nothing about her. That said, if someone manages to call her out on something she was trying to keep secret, she’ll usually just admit it. She claims to be a bad liar, but in truth she just thinks it’s easier not to bother. She hesitates to trust people, or to get too attached to anyone or anything. After having her entire life destroyed once, it makes sense that she would be wary. Her chosen life is a lonely one, but she’s okay with that. If nothing else, she’s very, very used to it.

The past ten years of her life have been dedicated to destroying blastia. Since people rely on blastia for many things, her actions are seen as both shocking and confusing, but she has her reasons. Specifically, she targets objects known as Hermes blastia, which were created by her father and have a significantly more detrimental effect on the environment than most people understand. Because she is secretive by nature and she doesn’t necessarily think people will agree with her actions, she hesitates to let anyone know that she’s the one who destroys the blastia, or to explain the reasons she took on such a task. She eventually tells the others in the game’s main party about the dangers of Hermes blastia, but only when it becomes apparent that they need to know. And even then, only Rita is aware that Hermes was in fact Judith’s father.

Those who understand her reasons might see it as an altruistic act for the benefit of the world at large. That wouldn’t be incorrect, but in truth, her motivations are a bit more self-centered. For one, she takes the job as something of an obligation because her father was the one who created the blastia in question. As she puts it to Rita, she wants to clean up his mess before anyone finds out. But perhaps more importantly, it’s something to do. Her entire life was ripped apart by the war; finding and destroying the Hermes blastia gave her life a purpose. Even she admits that she had become so focused on her task that she didn’t really stop to think about any bigger picture.

It’s noted at several times in the game that meeting the others in the main party--most notably Estelle--had a significant effect on her. She originally found them because Ba’ul sensed the presence of a blastia, but when she went to find it, she discovered the source was a human. Confused, she stuck around to investigate the situation, gradually discovering that Estelle had special powers with similar effects to the blastia, but even stronger.

In the process, she got to know Estelle and the people traveling with her, and was pleasantly shocked when those people began to treat her as a friend. She grew to truly value her companions, to the point where she would choose to have faith in them to find a way to nullify the effects of Estelle’s powers even though at many points it would have been easier to simply kill her. Prior to that point, her only friend had been Ba’ul, and the other Entelexeia to a lesser extent. By traveling with that group, she gained some faith in humanity, as well as a willingness to open herself up to others. At the canon point I’m taking her from, it seems that all blastia will cease to function and her mission will be over. She wonders what she’ll do with her life, afterward. But the one thing she knows is that she wants to stay with her new friends.

[point in timeline you're picking your character from]: Before the final dungeon

[journal post]:[The image shows up slightly tilted, and focused rather interestingly on Judith’s well-endowed chest. She has her clothes on, thankfully, but those still don’t leave terribly much to the imagination. The image spins dizzyingly, as if the person holding it suddenly turned the device around, then lands back on approximately the same image.]

Strange. I can’t tell if it’s doing anything.

[A slight sigh can be heard.]

If someone left this here for me, it would have been nice for them to tell me how to use it.

[The image shifts again, finally catching part of her face, though at an odd angle. She looks a little frustrated, but more puzzled than anything else. After apparently staring at the screen for a moment, she looks away and tilts the device again, leaving the camera pointing at the ceiling this time.]

It doesn’t even look like it’s a blastia...

[third person / log sample]:
Even after Rita had gone to bed, Judith remained awake, sitting and thinking. She leaned back against a rock and stared up at the sky. The young mage’s words replayed in her head. If all goes right, all the blastia will stop working. Including hermes blastia. You won’t have anything to do. They were true words, and they brought up a good point. Despite what she had said to Rita, she didn’t have any real idea what she was planning on doing with her life after this. She had had the same goal in mind for so long that suddenly being without it was strange, to say the least.

But, perhaps even to her own surprise, she also had meant that she didn’t really care. If what they did now removed the threat of the Hermes blastia forever, then she was fine with that. It was what she had been trying to accomplish all along, wasn’t it?

At that thought, she shook her head slightly, a small, ironic smile on her face. The mysterious blastia destroyer finally running out of things to destroy. There was a time when that would have bothered her. No more blastia to worry about. What ever would she have done with herself if that day had come while she was still alone?

She closed her eyes, thinking of her companions all asleep in the nearby inn. Or maybe they were all sitting awake, just like her. She wouldn’t be surprised. Tonight was a big night. Everyone had a lot to think about, and a lot to come to terms with. What if they failed? And more importantly, what if they didn’t? The world would be a different place, either way. But even so, Judith wasn’t afraid. She trusted herself and her companions to emerge victorious. She believed that neither she nor the world at large would fall apart without any blastia. She had enough faith in people to trust that everyone would recover from the sudden change.

“I have changed, haven’t I?” she mused aloud, though softly enough that no one who might still be awake nearby would hear. She opened her eyes, and looked at the town around her. A town that was prepared for whatever the world would be after the Adephagos was gone. After all the blastia had stopped working. She was looking at the future. Somehow, that was proof enough to her that everything would turn out alright. Though that in itself seemed like a strange thought, another proof that she was different from how she used to be. Maybe humans were more resilient than she had ever given them credit for. All she knew for sure was that she thought this world and its people were worth protecting.

And for now, she still had a goal ahead of her. They needed to win. Judith would do everything in her power to make that happen. Though right now, she realized, the best way to further that goal would be to finally get to bed. With any luck, the rest of her companions would already have done the same. She stood and gave her surroundings one last look, a small, confident smile on her face as she made her way back to the inn.
