Connecticut to Washington [4-28-10]

This was it. Lana had finished up all of her stuff at school, taken her last exam early, packed everything up and was on her way to Washington for the summer. She'd been lucky enough to be accepted back at the same place as an intern again - at a higher pay grade even - and she was going to be able to take some extra classes here. He'd got her message, yes, and Shawn had a very reliable taxi service.

I'll be there waiting when you land xx, he assured her via text, from where he was lounging around in arrivals, sunglasses on to avoid any recognition.

Just landed. Lucky you, Lex has to run. Be there soon.

Lana sent off her own text, then turned her attention back to Lex who was instructing the airport personnel to treat her as they would him and make sure she was delivered safely to Shawn.

She managed to refrain from sighing at his overprotectiveness and smiled at him when he turned to say goodbye. She assured him she would be fine and that no, he didn't need to change his plans, gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek and finally was off to arrivals where she scanned the area eagerly for Shawn.

Seeing Lana was enough to get him moving out of his slouch and into a move to get up and meet her.

"You say lucky me' like the guy has it in for me," Shawn remarked, holding up his phone, and shoving it into his pocket when he got close enough to reach for her.

It was a greeting. Or something. He'd get to the 'Hi, how are you?' part in a minute.

And this would be Lana going into his arms and holding out tight. The 'Hi, how are you' could absolutely wait.

She sighed contentedly. "Oh, this is what I wanted."
