Finally making my Angsty April rounds. I really loved this piece. The world needs more LoTR/Shitennou combinations.
Evil!Endymion was so deliciously evil, and he met a pretty bad end. The moment when Kunzite forgets he still has the ring on is shiver-worthy. I love how the Shitennou can retain enough of a sense of their selves that they are wary of the ring and Endymion, but they don't even know what the greatest threat to come is. Their joint complicity in finding the rings, especially Jadeite melting them all together, is terrific.
There were so many wonderful images in the piece, like: "Queen Serenity’s omniscient eyes", Endymion's cape (I never realized before how ominous-looking his armor could be), and "The pregnant Serenity was floating in one of Elysion’s many ponds, water lilies snaked in her pale hair." So beautifully creepy and sad. And something rotten in the heart of Elysion is definitely one of the most fitting images for Endy-turned-evil fics.

Oh Ice, thank you so much! I really wanted to write for this prompt and this was one of the fics where I had a completely different ending planned and then a secondary character came along and stole not only the ring, but also the spotlight.
