The Movies Will Take My Sanity Away!

I'm an entertainment geek. I'm not afraid to admit it.  Now I have to go on a rant with movies because I love them. It has come to my attention in the last couple years that movies in general are getting less original. There has been alot of remakes, sequels about the same  plot, old T.V. shows being made into a movie, and similar plot lines ( Read more... )

The Last Kiss was really good. I enjoyed it. The Guardian looks really good too.

Actually The Illusionist is an excellent movie, and one of the more original ones I've seen this year. My top movie this year is Little Miss Sunshine... by far!

You know that I manage a movie theater right? Feel free to ask about movies anytime, I usually watch most of them except for the periods where I get so busy between work and school that I fall behind on my movies haha

Avoid Black Dahlia though... 95% of the customers that leave that movie have all had the same thought about it - ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE. Its one of the few movies we've ever had where people actually walk out of it because they think its so bad. I haven't watched it myself, and I probably won't waste my time either, but I've heard the acting is shitty and wooden, the plot is nonexistant, etc etc.

Hollywoodland is supposed to be a decent movie; the most positive thing I have heard about it is that it is one Ben Affleck's best performances ever ( ... )

Thanks for your comment. I will probably check out that site because I like to hear real reviews. Little Miss Sunshine was the best summer movie by far. I actually wanted to see Hollywoodland, but I'm afraid they will try to solve something that went unsolved in real life. The Illusionist looks good. I won't go see The Prestige though because I don't like Scarlett Johansson. She is in good movies but she isn't anything impressive to me. Another reason why I won't go see The Black Dahlia

I've always been iffy about Scarlett Johansson - I've liked her in some movies... than others I couldn't have cared less about.

I liked Lost in Translation, even though it was definitely a very different kinda movie (my boyfriend HATED it)...

and The Island was an okay movie too, nothing great by any standards except there were several times I could've sworn it Jessica Alba in the movie instead of SJ haha

SIDENOTE: I don't know about you, but I about peed my pants the first time I watch Little Miss Sunshine - that is one movie that will DEFINITELY be in my DVD collection in the future!!

I almost peed my pants too. I laughed so hard when they were getting the dead grandpa out of the hospital. That movie was excellent! When it comes out on DVD it will be in my movie collection as well. As for SJ, she has done one movie that I actually enjoyed, which was Ghost World. Most of her movies are ok, but I can think of a million other people that could have played her roll better.

I refuse to see either The Grudge or The Grudge 2 simply because the original came out on my birthday and caused everyone to forget it. :( I'm bitter, haha.

I love jackass, and I'm seeing number two on opening night.
Why? Because I'm into stupid humor. I have a mean sense of humor where people hurting themselves is pure entertainment to me. Sad? yeah...but what can I say...

I like stupid humor too. I'm just saying that I would go see it in theaters because I have to pay 10.50 for a matinee and I'd rather rent it. I just wish there were some more original movies coming out because I'm not dazzled by any of them now.
