Today I sent my first novel in six years to my publisher. There's a feeling of release knowing that it's no longer in my hands. Artistic pursuits are like children in that you create and care and nurture but one day they won't belong to you any more. They will exist properly on their own and you must watch from the outside instead

I love the time I spend at Briar Rose. It's a true sanctuary, and one of the places I feel most comfortable in all the world. I adore everyone who lives there, and everyone I've ever met there. I've always admired Isabelle so much, and I could hardly believe my good fortune as we became closer and closer friends. I love her. I love you all.
