I did. ...Are you learning to read still?

Yeah... It's not really important though, so it doesn't matter. You don't need to read to be a good Christian!

I'm certain you don't, you do a very good job already. Still reading can be fun. And helpful.

Is it your job to be a good Christian?

Christianity is a religion. I'm sure there must be a Bible somewhere in Discedo if you're interested in learning about it.

Someone mentioned it to me. I figured I should probably look it up. A Bible is? A book?

The Bible is a scripture, split into different "books" that outline Christianity's teachings and the life of Christ. The scripture is rather lengthy, but the library in the school should have a readable copy or two.

I see. You don't think anyone would mind if I borrowed a copy do you?

If I might, Dr. Crescent... You aren't from the planet Earth, then?

I'm not. That's not a problem is it? I told a little boy I would convert.

A-ah, no. I am not partial to religion myself, but Christianity has had a profound impact on my world to say the least. It's one of three major, monotheistic religions that have dominated my world for thousands of years.

From what I've gathered over the network, there are Christians here in the city. I meant to say that, in all likelihood, there could be a Bible--the holy text--available in the library.

Surely there are better reasons for converting to a religion?

Oh. What are the other two?

Doubtless. But a religion might be fun.

Christianity is a prominent religion is most version of the world named "Earth". It's basic tenants are the worship of one diety known simply as God, his human son who is simultaneously an avatar of him, and the essence of his power. The religion has several different denominations that have different dogmas and beliefs, although the most common one emphasizes how the son sacrificed himself for all of humankind's sins.

I see. ... ...Why would he do that?

Essentially, it was an exchange-for humans to attain a happy afterlife, that one had to die. It can be quite bizarre when looked at from afar, but people believed in it.

Afterlife? Doesn't everyone return to the Lifestream?

...That seems a rather cruel reason to kill someone.

One of the major religions of Earth. The majority of it is garbage, so it doesn't really matter.

Aren't all religions? Sure, it got a couple variables right, which in turn, means the relative religions did as well, but the rest is |bullshit|.

I don't know... I know a few in my world who tended to get things right. They were just... ...a bit fanatical if you will.

What are the points they got right in your world?
