This beatnik love rocks my world
rocks my soul
rocks my words

teaching me your song, on the saxophone smooth
wailing sound, of my guitar
that you tuned
i tune in
to your words
yeah yeah hep cat
you've got the answers
you've got the rain
you hold the answer to the mystery of pain

And hop on the dance floor
jump off the bus
this beatnik love,
hep cat, rocks us.

As you strike out your words
rhythm making
making beat
The drums keep sound
and all around
cats are snapping
tapping feet

and hop on the dance floor
jump off the bus
this beatnik love
rocks me, rocks us

yeah hop on the dance floor
jump off the the bus
Cuz you hold the answer to the mystery of us

So be it music, words, or sound
be it silent, breathy, loud

you've got me hooked, im gonna have to stay
im gonna keep my heart on the tip of your beret.

so yes. basically. i've been doing my best to listen to a lot of jazz. the Columbia Community Day was actually quite fun for me, despite teh rain. I missed McCoy Tyner, but i listened to Taj Mahal from ym friends window, and danced a bit to Eddie Palmieri, and Dee Dee Bridgewaters was just jamming up there. And then we decided to brave the rain and head to Willaimsburg in Brooklyn for the Jazz Festival..which wasn't as hot as we hoped, but was still an incredible experience. Also, several nights of looking at skylines of different states and cities over water. I would like to post some pictures soon, the night was documented.

I send you all my love. You folks are always on my thoughts.
