You have to love the folk remedies surrounding inebriation. Riding home on the bus last night I saw a gaggle o' drunk students get on board. The drunkest one of the bunch was deposited in the seat next to me. Well, it is true that your hangover is affected by other criteria, such as how well hydrated you are, what exactly you were drinking, whether you also had something to eat, etc. My medical knowledge is sketchy, but I was led to believe that many of the symptoms of the hangover are treatable, provided you aren't drinking as much of whatever crap as you can. Personal experience would lead me to think that was the case. I have gotten pretty well trashed and been hangover free the next day.

But, yeah, there is some pretty basic cause and effect, I will give you that.

That was edifying. Thanks. Glad to see Soviet medicine was on the cutting edge of this problem as well.

I'm not quite sure how the discussion went from "Tylenol plus beer" to "any cure ever proposed." Even on the cited page, they seem to me to shy away from any decisive judgment on any particular cure. All I'm saying ultimately is that if you feel you need to take countermeasures for how much you are drinking, in most situations you should just not drink so much. I've learned this the hard way.
