Hustle series 7 episode 4 "Benny's Funeral" was for me definitely the most enjoyable series 7 episode so far. ( Massive, I mean it, MASSIVE, spoilers behind the cut )

LMAO harlot.

I really like D9. My BFF hated it and said it was "asinine". I didn't talk to her for three days.

Asinine?! How did she ever reach that conclusion? I found it a highly realistic portrayal of what would actually happen in real life if similar circumstances arose, and I thought it raised several important points relating to the human psyche, racism etc. without ever becoming preachy.

The only thing I can think of that would leave her with that impression is the fact that they suddenly changed the genre from Sci-fi/Drama/Mockumentary/Action to primarily sci-fi/action-focused in the third act. I was disappointed by that, but it hardly erased the rest of the film from my mind!

I absolutely ADORE District 9 and Sharlto. At first I wasn't too fond of Wikus until he was infected and on the run. He was kind of a prat up until that point. Hell, and even a little after. But the relationship that developed between him and Christopher changed him for the better, and by the end I was in love. What's weird is I didn't start to really *drool* over him until that final shot of him still human, watching Christopher leave in the ship. WTF self, I didn't think he was totally hawt until he was half transformed into an alien. Really? T_T

One of my coworkers said he didn't like D9. I told him to get the eff out of my car. XDD

What I like best about Wikus is the fact that he's such a flawed, realistic human being. He's not the MNU's One Moral Employee (TM), who discovers how badly the aliens are treated and promptly becomes leader of La Résistance because that's what's MORALLY RIGHT To DO!. He's just an ordinary man who gets himself into an incredibly sticky situation, primarily out to save his own skin (literally) but who eventually realises there are bigger things at stake too.

I started to love him when he overheard Christopher and his son discussing District 10 *wibble*

I think I can do you one worse - I started drooling when they began their experiments with the weapons. He's so pretty when he's hurt...I agree he looks great just at the end too, though;)

I could understand not enjoying the film, tastes differs and all. I've more of a problem with someone dismissing it as "asinine", as the commenter above experienced:(
