Tasks: Half-complete or half-incomplete?

Sep 06, 2006 12:46

In my early twenties, I was a glass half-empty type of gal. Thankfully, that changed. Can't remember if that was just due to me growing up, or me becoming a mother, perhaps? I often attribute to my attitude change to my dh's influence. He is very optimistic; definitely not a dreamer, but he always has hope and rarely, rarely stresses about * ( Read more... )

I hate un-done things too, and I have many of your To Dos on my list as well. Digital photos!? I bet I have over a thousand I'd like to print. UGH ( ... )

I LOVE that idea: writing down all the things I HAVE done, rather than concentrating on the things I HAVEN'T done. I really try to look on the brighter side of things, but sometimes I just have "those" days.

I don't know how often my kids eat regular healthy meals. LOL I do try, but we have been eating out WAY too much, lately. Not really fast food, but still....

And I do try to not fret about the scrapbooking. It's truly a joy for me, such a creative outlet for myself, that I really WANT to get to that. You're right...I will have WAY too much time on my hands someday, and THAT will keep me busy and happy!!!

Thanks for helping me feel better. :)

I kwym about following through! Sounds like that 2 hour window would be perfect ofr you! It's been a lot harder on me to see the things I'm not getting done now that I'm working 3 days a week. But, I do know that I'm doing *something* productive, it will just take time to get to teh other things. I used to be on top of scrapbooking, but I haven't given it another thought since I did it Mother's Day weekend (and that was only to catch up thru Christmas). Eventually, time will get there! (((HUGS)))

I am loving my 2hr window on Mondays!!!! I am definitely planning on using that 2 hours for ME and my projects rather than house projects.

I just started working 3 days a week (after working 2 all summer), and I know it'll take awhile to develop a new routine and groove.

Thanks...

I was totally thinking of you last night -- I had Krista's two girls here (age 8 and 5) in addition to my two and I feel like I spent HOURS just feeding them and filling their drinks! WHEW, 4 kids is a LOT of work, and I wasn't even bathing or helping with homework or any of that.

You've got so much to do without the fun projects. So please cut yourself some slack. I am glad that the funk has lifted anyway and I hope you can chip away at your list as time permits.

Having four IS busy, but their ages, now, are so much easier than it used to be. Taylor (almost 9) and Matthew (7.5) are such big helpers; so self-sufficent now, too. I hate to complain. I DO wonder how I did it when Ry was a newborn, Connor-21 mos, Matthew-4.5 and Taylor not quite 6. THOSE were busy days! ;)

I am trying to cut myself some slack. :)

Thank you.

wow!

How about taking a nap during that rare 2-hour break? : )

or hire a housekeeper and on that day, frame all your beloved photos?

I really don't know how you do the things you do. So impressed. The scrapbooks can wait a bit. I do mine when I can't sleep.

Hang in there, Super Mom!

I really am considering hiring a housekeeper now that I am working 3 days/week. My problem really isn't keeping up with the "cleaning," though...it's the piles of clothes, paperwork, art projects, etc. (that a housekeeper wouldn't know what to do with! LOL ) so I just don't know...

I'm not a Super Mom, but thanks. ;) Busy Mom might fit me better, :) but ALL moms are busy!!!

((hugs))
