After a lot of arguing and reassurances that Sam would be fine and safe, I finally got the agents to leave. I left Sam tucked into Buffy's old bed, trying to ignore the irony. Did the whole coat thing and made our way back to my place. Should’ve seen some of the looks we got, well that I got with my leather duster on over me. Didn’t care one bit though.
"no more screaming!" “That’s right love, no more screaming.” I re assured her as she headed right for my bed. Guess she liked the old thing, then again we did share something special in it not too long ago. The bed is covered in throw pillows and rumpled blankets, well this won't do. One by one, she takes each pillow on the bed and drops it on the floor next to it. She then busies herself smoothing and tucking the covers carefully. Taking great care and effort to make sure the surface of the blanket is free of wrinkles. no more sin.
She notices for the first time the walls are made of stone and she walks to one, running her fingers over the bumpy surface. There in the dark in this place she felt calmer, the air wasn't so hot and she could breathe it easier because it wasn't so thick. It's then and only then that Willow's voice punctures her thoughts. Her head turns sharply.
"I can't go back."
