You’re cuddling with Rachel as you watch Moulin Rouge. Cuddling because you love her, and because this is the closest she’ll let you get to touching her boobs. Which you don’t understand, because she slept with Jesse, but you try not to think about that, because it always makes you angry.
Anyway, you’re cuddling, and “Elephant Love Medley” is playing. It gets to the end, where Satine and Christian are kissing, fireworks behind them. Wistfully, she says, “I wish this could happen for us.”
“It could.” And then you kiss her harder than you ever have.
And there are fireworks.
