FUCK COLLEGE

I would just like to let everyone know that until May 2006 if someone so much as mentions an admissions process, applications, application essays, their top choice, their back up choice, financial aid, OR BRINGS UP THE FUCKING FACT THAT I NEED TO GET ALL OF THIS BULLSHIT SETTLED one more time, then I will cut them. And cut them dead ( Read more... )

My advice? Do you really want it? Get away from the island. The world is so much bigger than Brevard county. You don't have to leave Florida like I did, I know that it's too much for some people to want to do, but get away. And by away I don't mean UCF, either. Go to UNF or USF or FSU or whatever, but go to a university that's at least 2-3 hours from home. It's such a different experience when you're moved in to college and you have to learn to be completely on your own. Oh, and live on-campus. Totally. You get so much more involved in campus life that way. Don't go to Rollins, either, go to a state school that you can afford with Bright Futures because then you'll be so independent. Yes, I know that I didn't go to a state school, but there was a reason for that...SUNY sucks. If I had stayed in Florida, I would've gone to a state school ( ... )

Oh my gosh, Holly. If you only do one thing in your life, do this. MOVE AWAY! Believe me, you will be sooo much happier. And I agree with Kate, UCF isn't far enough away. Go anywhere that you can use your Bright Futures. You have worked too hard to give up that free money. Go far away and get a dorm room and make new friends and have a real college experience. You won't regret it later. Don't let your parents convince you to stay. Just because they are afraid to let you go isn't a reason for you to stay. It's your life and your decision especially if the state is going to pay for it. Don't stress out so much about college. I did and I shouldn't have because it ended up working our great. I love where I go to school and you should too. Whatever you do, don't live with your parents through college! Even of the summer, it KILLS me, lol! You deserve an awesome college experience. And don't make an choices based on where your friends go either. Chances are you won't stay friends with them through all of school anyway. You ( ... )

I agree pretty much with everything they just said. The only thing I'd say I may vary on would probably be that you have to go 2-3 hours away. Being at UCF keeps me far enough from home that I live my own life completly, but I can still go home and see the animals and my parents once a week or whenever. For the first week or 2 they were still in the process of living without me so I went back a bit more, but once they get used to it, it's kind've nice having them close enough that if you need them or they need you, or you just want to see them... you can go and it not be an entire weekend trip or something. By no means am I saying you shouldn't go to FSU, UF, or USF or something like that... but as long as your out've Brevard and still in Florida I don't think the distance matters so much, the only difference from something like Rollins or UCF and other schools is how easy it is for you to see your parents when you want to. (Also, trust me... once you move out, your parents back down a heck of alot and you actually want to be around ( ... )

yep. it's the worst part of senior year. aint it fun? you should deffinitely come to orlando! i'll take care of you. *wink wink nudge nudge* jeff and i are going to try and rent a house next year. its usually cheaper than an apartment if you have enough people. we could use another person i think. maybe...

early decision eh? well if rollins is the school you REALLY want to go to, then i say go for it.
