DRUG USE IS FOR LIBERALS blogavad_gita April 21 2008, 05:08:02 UTC
FRIEND AND CHRISTIAN, I COME BEFORE YOU WITH A REQUEST: CEASE YOUR USE OF MIND ALTERING DRUGS IMMEDIATELY! JESUS FROWNS UPON THE WEAK-WILLED ADDICTS OF HIS WORLD. I VALUE YOUR OPINIONS MY GOOD MAN, AND IT WOULD PAIN ME INCESSANTLY SO TO DISCOVER YOUR CORPSE IN HELL (I WILL BE IN HEAVEN). ALSO, RON PAUL KNOWS THE
*THRUTH* ABOUT DRUGS AND HOW LIBERALS CREATED THEM AND CONTROL THEIR ILLEGAL TRADE. YOUR JUST ENABLING THE LIBERAL WELFARE CRYPTO-FASCISTS WITH YOUR WEAKNESS.

MY NAME IS BLOG G AND I AM 22 YEARS OLD.

Yeah, usually I excuse these kinds of posts by saying "that was years ago... I'm different now" but this was sadly only less than a year ago.

I have stopped taking adderall though, not because I'm against drugs (fuck yes, drugs drug drugs!!@!) but because I realized it didn't actually help me do anything.

You know who's better than ron paul? Milton Friedman. Anyone who defends anything other than the free market must be a commie.

THis is in response to something you posted a while back on Real PHilosophy. It was about something I wrote regarding Foucault and the Panopticon. YOu said you wanted to synthesize Chomsky and Foucault's theory of power. first, I don't know if this is possible. While they were professionally cordial with one another each of these intellectual juggernauts secretly (and in some cases openly) despised one another. Chomsky repeatedly said that what society needs is vast education, medical care, treatment for the mentall ill, etc. He thought that for the most part universities were "good" (for lack of a better word), that education was actually a salvation for people. You should know that the big difference between Chomsky and Foucault is that chomsky thought we can create a better democracy and ultimately a better political system if we just educated people more efficiently.. he thought the problem with politics is that it keeps people in the dark. Foucault thought power was actually extended through universities, clinics, etc. Foucault ( ... )

I've read the book chomsky vs. foucault, seen the debate, I understand foucault + chomsky in that sense, and I understand why they are fundamentally incomptable ( ... )

Thanks for commenting on my LJ. Yes, higher education is a bourgeois mind-fuck. People think that it makes a difference in the world. It doesn't. College is a shortcut people take to get a job. Nothing more. I realize this every time I try to discuss philosophy with my students. They do not want to think, they want quick, easy, instrumental thinking to get them through to a $30-40,000 a year job.

Why did you feel the need to leave a comment on my journal saying, "youre the asshole, everyone else was right in real-philosophy?" basically the only thing I said was that anostnognoislias was a "stuffy Lacanian" , which he actually is... everyone thought i was the devil for saying "you stuffy lacanian", then he denied he was Lacanian, and then you came along and said, "whats it like being a lacanian" and he said, "oh its marvelous" and somehow I came off as an asshole. that community is populated with egotistical undergraduates and the occasional graduate student who is self-righteous. In my opinion its a complete waste of time, if you are interested in mature philosophical conversation you should check out my community... capandschiz

haha, because the way you are insecure and immature and argue like this, the very fact that you said the things you said this way, and the very fact that you think that I said "you're an asshole, everyone else was right in real-philosophy" which I never did. I merely pointed out that your arguments were overall pretty weak, for instance, when someone asked you to clarify your use of a word you immediately jumped to conclusions and took it really personally. That's why no one in real-philosophy takes you seriously, not for being an asshole (I am lane and zentinger are assholes too) but for having shabby reasoning and then being immature about it ( ... )

Yes I do in that community! Take a look, there is serious conversation going on... give and take. Everyone in "REal philosophy" is content to sling turds at everyone else. Being a professor means you have to avoid committing suicide on a daily basis because a majority of your work will go unnoticed undigested, unreflected upon. Colleges are not a place of learning. Neither is Real PHilosophy. Philosophy is like a message in a bottle... you send it out and never know if it will reach anyone.... odds are it wont. The arguments in real philosophy are a testament to that point. In CapandSchiz we are actually doing what is promised in real philosophy, close readings, interpretations, discussions in a respectful manner. I loathe how argumentative philosophy is... it makes me want to become a janitor.
