Canon Used: Original headcanony things.
Appearance:
http://i.models.com/oftheminute/images/2006/quito/IMG_0170.jpg Psychology: Most necromancers in Cally’s world tend to be either “goths” or “Emos,” they love black clothing, look constantly depressed and tend to hate most people… This is pretty much the opposite of what Cally is, so pay no real attention to that.
Cally loves wearing colorful clothes, she isn’t exactly obsessed with making a statement but being a noble in her world she tends to wear fine clothes, and most of those fine clothes tend to be in a rainbow of colors, she likes showing off quite a lot and since she can’t really do it with her powers she tends to do it with her appearance (though considering that she’s trapped in a underground cave currently that won’t happen for a bit.)
She’s also extremely friendly and loves talking to people, any people, anybody at all… yeah, basically she’s in the habit of grabbing random people off of the street and babbling at them about everything for hours, she does tend to babble quite a lot and ninety eight percent of the time it’ll be about unimportant things, life is far too short to worry about in her eyes and so she never does, she tends to brush off most calamities fairly easily… Which might make her look a bit callous but she is a necromancer.
Though she doesn’t show it that often Cally is fairly smart, she can’t really read at all (or write) but she loves hearing stories and learning about everything under the sun (even if she will forget it after a hour or so), she loves telling stories too and will often inject anecdotes and random things about dragons into the middle of her rants, it can occasionally take a rather special mind to keep up with Cally, she’s not overwhelmingly bright but her default speed is around that of a cheetah on crack at most times.
One of the few things personality wise that she shares with other necromancers is the fact that she doesn’t get squeamish about anything, bugs and rats don’t bother her at all (she actually loves rats, they remind her of possums) and she doesn’t really have much reaction to people dying all around her, she’ll mourn a little if somebody close to her dies but she won’t feel the need to wear black for the rest of her life or to throw up around a dead body, she’s usually rather practical about that sort of thing, everybody has to die eventually and corpses have to undergo natural processes, it’s pointless to get distressed over natural things in her eyes.
This lack of concern about death also extends to causing death; she won’t go on grand killing sprees or kill perfectly nice people… But if somebody is a direct threat to her she will take the opportunity to remove them from her life and won’t feel any guilt about it at all.
If they come back? Well, that’d surprise her a little but she won’t avoid them or go begging on her knees for their forgiveness, she’s more likely to give them a chirpy smile and launch into another rant... Confusion is the default state around Cally.
She isn’t that practical in other areas though, she wouldn’t term herself as a brave person or a hero (the thought makes her giggle) but despite that she can occasionally be very brave depending on your definition of it, if a close friend is hurt she’ll always go back for them no matter what is coming after them, she can be quite fiercely loyal in a rather “I stab you if you touch them” kind of way and she tends to speak before thinking, a habit which can land her in quite serious trouble when paired with her habit of almost never saying sorry to anybody, ever.
Cally is unfortunately also very lazy, the only time you’ll ever see her scowl is when she’s forced to exercise, she hates working out with a passion and loves relaxing and food quite a bit, she’s perfectly happy to watch people being active but doing it? No way, ever.
She’s also very easily distracted, she can get determined about certain things (very occasionally, it takes too much effort) but she’ll never set out on a quest and stay focused all the way through, she will honestly wander off after butterflies and go off on long rambles, she can be extremely forgetful and although she’s usually good at remembering faces she will forget names on a very regular basis.
Overall though she’s just a fairly normal, fairly chatty teenage girl, there are few things that actually point to her being a necromancer and she seems rather happy with her life for the most part, weirdly happy to be perfectly honest.
Also, she’s obsessed with possums and will often be found ranting about them… It’s best not to ask.
Other Skills/Abilities: -Necromancer, she can raise up to possums from the dead, has great night vision, faintly enhanced senses and never gets claustrophobic.
-Faint skills with a sword and dagger.
-Great story telling skills.
-Knows a bit of hand to hand combat.
-Fairly good at picking up languages.
Other Weaknesses: -She’s basically human, and rather unfit at that, she can’t really run, she can’t ride and her aim is rubbish.
-Bad at holding her breath.
-Animals are profoundly afraid of her, except possums and cats.
-Gets tired quite easily.
-Illiterate, can’t read or write.
-Tends to break most modern technology upon touching it, she just seems to have an electricity killing field.
History: Cally was born the third child and second daughter of two necromancers in the land of Ceresbar, in this land the necromancers were the main ones in power and so Cally grew up in luxury… which she didn’t appreciate much, unfortunately for her parents, instead of working on becoming a better necromancer or learning tasks befitting to a “lady” she tended to run off with local commoner boys and play games in muddy places, she seemed to delight in getting dirty and that’s how most of her uneventful younger years were spent, getting dirty and watching her mother have hysterics about it with a certain sense of pride. She had a few tutors but they weren’t very interesting and so she ignored them, which is probably why she can’t do much necromancy wise.
This fondness for getting dirty did not go away as she got older, after the intervention of a new tutor who was actually interesting (and occasionally smuggled her alcohol) and her parents engaging her to a perfectly boring boy in the neighboring castle she started to pay a little more attention to her studies but still delighted in running off and causing trouble for everybody around… in fact that’s actually how she met two of the most important people in her life, Sophia and Tuomas.
The two had been running from bandits and literally crashed into Cally as she was sneaking out from the castle, which got them all a bit messed up (that put them in her good books straight away), she helped them to hide from the bandits in and nearby river and then tried to persuade her parents to let them into the castle… Which her parents, of course, rejected and made horrified sounds over.
Of course, since her parents disliked them Cally loved Sophia and Tuomas even more and followed them secretly from the castle after they scuttled off to far distant places, Tuomas was dismayed when he discovered her puffing along behind them but Sophia just went “alright then, just try not to get us killed” and let her join them, which was a really fantastic decision in Cally’s eyes, she wouldn’t be mind numbingly bored ever again! Whoop!
So, they traveled together for three months in relative peace, dodging bandits and saving people from horrible fates (sometimes both at the same time)… And then they got ambushed by said bandits in a entirely mean sort of way, they had been staying in a town by the great caves that stretched under the land neighboring Ceresbar (Gallomere) when they were attacked by about fifty bandits, it was not a good day and led to very bad things happening, which really depressed Sophia and made Cally annoyed for about two hours.
They managed to escape but at a cost, they had to flee deep into the caves (which were famed for being hard to get out of and very dark) and Tuomas got hit in the head by the end of a spear and collapsed into a coma, leaving Sophia and Cally alone in the dark together, Cally was quite bothered about Tuomas’s condition but the darkness didn’t bother her, it was quite nice actually (apart from the water.)
Luckily there were people who dwelled in the caves, Cally and Sophia (and Tuomas, who is still in a coma) have been trapped underground for a year but they have been given food and water by these people who are actually fairly friendly (if mostly insane, Cally fits in) and so have just managed to survive, they are slightly weak from lack of sunlight but they are still quite ready to fight the bandits, who are big meanies and deserve to be hit a lot.
They’ll get out quite soon but for now they’ll just be drifting, deep underground and wondering how to face the rebels when they get out… While Cally obsesses over possums and babbles a lot, it isn’t a fantastic life.
Update: And it keeps not being a fantastic life for a few months; except with added stars and a world that is possibly imaginary and quite grumpy at times (*Cough*SATOSHI*cough*) but eventually things started to change- there seemed more air and a lot more light; something was changing but nobody knew what so they just kept drifting.
…Until they ended up being spat out onto a bank right in front of Eleni and two other dudes.
After a short time of flailing at each other Eleni updated the situation for them: the bandits were expecting a huge battle and were gathering to huge amounts to try and take over the entire country; there are a few traitors still spying on the rebels but it’ll still be a hard and brutal fight. Things are going to be decided for once and for all.
Of course, Sophia decides to avenge her village and fight them so they all storm off to join the opposing gathered army and fight to the death- except these are medieval battles so things are a lot more organised, and so they have a night to muse on all that could be lost and what they have to do (AKA: fight like rats.)
Of course; it’s at that point that Cally decides to try and raise a entire army of possums to help out- which might end up having rather surprising results.
Update 2: And why did it have rather surprising results? Well, because not only did a few possums actually come back to life and form an undead army (yes, because that wasn't creepy at all) but somebody else came back too. Yep, the long absent Tuomas was awoken by Cally doing her necromancy thing and was there to fight in the big battle as a result.
Of course, being a big battle full of evil, death, suffering and zombie!possums eating peoples faces it was a very hard battle. But in the end they did finally triumph! After the loss of Eleni's two dudes; and a awful lot of bloodshed. But it was still a win- not a glorious, victorious one but still something.
And from this bittersweet victory came another thing, a desire for change and the prevention of anything of the sort ever happening again. To that purpose Cally, Sophia, the newly awakened Tuomas and the possums that Cally took from the cave all decided to set off and try and educate people into enlightenment. Into standing up for their beliefs and other such amazingly good things- for a better future.
So! Off into the sunset; with possums and flowers and that; it might not last very long but at least she's happy at the present moment!
Canon Point: Um… Well, N/A I suppose, though in headcanon she’s pretty close to the end of her plotted story.
Reality Description: Cally’s world is still basically stuck in the middle ages as far as society goes, there’s no electricity or usage of gas, most people are still farmers and if the crops fail a lot of people do die, especially since there is no magical back up in case bad things happen.
There isn’t much magic in Cally’s world, in fact the only kind of magic that there is around is necromancy, anybody who dies can be raised from the dead as long as the necromancer is advanced enough in their studies, most necromancers tend to be born in Ceresbar but they can be born anywhere, although it is fairly rare.
There is one major landmass in Cally’s world with three kingdoms on it, Ceresbar is to the south east and is a very cold land with lots of cliffs and clouds (basically like a tougher version of England), Gallomere is in the south west and borders Ceresbar, it’s also quite gloomy but is a lot more green and more plagued by bandits, above both of them is a mysterious land called Ashelbar which is presumably quite like the other two but nobody is telling, Sophia comes from just in Ashelbar but she doesn’t speak much about it.
Cally’s land is extremely prejudiced, sexism and racism are becoming slightly less of a problem but they are still very much there, in Cally’s world white people are firmly in power and look down on everybody who is the tiniest bit different, people with brown hair are usually looked down on… as are people who aren’t white and most women (though the first queen of Gallomere changed a lot of opinions in her reign)… Basically, most people in power are utter jerks, and commoners are suppressed ruthlessly, there’s a big gap between the classes.
…Not that Cally actually sees any of that, currently she’s stuck in the caves that stretch all the way under Gallomere, these caves are populated by people but are still quite barren and dark, they are mostly filled with water so the three are traveling by boat with occasional stops at outposts, it’s a very dark and cold cave but they’re just about livable in.
The other two in the boat? Are her two main NPCs, there’s Sophia who comes from Ashelbar and is a orphan since her village was squished by bandits- she’s fairly friendly (and Cally has a bit of a crush on her) but angsty and doesn’t talk much. Second is Tuomas, who was a guard and a very friendly person but who now also doesn’t talk much… Because he’s in a coma, inflicted by the same bandits.
These bandits? Are the baddies, led by a crazy guy generally referred to as “the evil idiot” and his priestess lover (Carys) they’ve pretty much been pillaging the land for about a year, most people have suffered from them and Sophia’s overall purpose (aided by Cally) is to get rid of them, there are a few sympathetic bandits so the chances are good.
As for other NPCs? There’s one, Eleni, a mad fighter gal who was a noble and is currently up above and doing her mad fighter girl thing, she’s kind of a idiot but Cally’s never met her and so likes her, and will occasionally rant about her to anybody listening.
Oh and the cave possums, who are all evil and all desire to take over the world and bring about a apocalypse, not that Cally knows this at all.
Update: Aaaand there's also another one; Melinoa who was the second in command and one of the sympathetic bandits. Cally won't be seeing much of her even after she actually started to influence but she's still a fairly new and big presence on Cally's world. So is worth a mention.

So, that’s Cally’s world, it’s definitely not perfect but… Okay, so she doesn’t enjoy it that much, actually she’ll probably be trying to cling to the Plane; seriously, she really hates her world most of the time, and no amount of babbling shall change that.
