Let the wedding planning commence!

Where to begin?!? So much has been going on in my life lately it's hard to even keep track! Between horses, home improvements, traveling, and WEDDING PLANNING I've been a busy bee. Hmmmm, well since I posted a bunch of pictures from one of the shows I went to with the horses I'll move onto me ;P
As you all (I think?) know Francis and I are engaged ( Read more... )

That scene from The Runaway Bride is indelibly etched in my memory as the best of all possible weddings and now I can associate it with a good friend!! How perfect is that?

I hope this process is fun and that your special day is everything you want it to be. You & Francis deserve that.

I don't know about adding a snake to your herd, though ...

Thank you so much Heather :) I'm really happy to hear that someone else shares my love for that scene!! And I'm with you on the snake thing...I've never had one and I don't see it happening. I suppose you never know for sure though.

I'm SO happy you and I are basically going through this whole process together, b/c we can find stuff for each other along the way. Like you, I have started to plan, and it IS complicated even for a simple wedding. But I did find something that I swear has made things easier, and I think you'll find it useful too ( ... )

you know...we're getting married around the same time (though mine would be in the summer). And if you and Francis are able to make it out here for mine...well, you and I could have a double-bachelorette here: http://www.poledancestudio.com/stag.php#pkg_c

Hey, you'd technically get to have TWO stagettes that way ;)

Just saying...

Thank you soooo much for the checklist! I'm already using it!!! And I so need to get on skype with you soon. I don't have a webcam (boo old computers and cheap owners ;P) but we can totally chat!! And that bachelorette sounds AH-MAZING!!! Hehehehe that would be incredible if we could work that out.
I'm so excited for the both of us!!

Actually, I talked to our resident Godmother of Smut about that yesterday :D Jenna took one look at the package and said "I could probably swing that." CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? I was like "OMG Jenna, if you can do that, that would be like The Best wedding present to give me." Because Ty and I don't really need anything (we're mostly just going to set of a "money tree" and people can donate whatever amount they like, and we'll use it for our house, honeymoon, help cover wedding expenses, or even put a little away so that our future kids have a little money for college. So yeah, if you can come up here for the bachelorette, it's gonna be a blast. I mean, it's the Godmother, CEO/Princess and Queen of Smut at a poledance studio with a toy party and an exotic dancer (and you KNOW I'm going to try to get a Damon-lookalike). That's like every fan's dream come true, and I'm personally inviting you ;) Feel special yet? lol ( ... )

Though I love weddings and all they represent, I think the best piece of advice ever I learned was on a little television show called Friends in which Monica, who wanted a big fancy wedding, and Chandler, who didn't want to spend every last dime he had on wedding preparations, learned together that they wanted a marriage not a wedding. A wedding is just one day, and while it should be special, I think if you keep in mind that a successful marriage is your goal, you will learn to not sweat the small stuff and not let things stress you out. Anything that causes strife doesn't matter; whatever gets y'all to the chapel, that's what matters. :D

On the other hand, I know you two will be ABSOLUTELY beautiful on your wedding day, and I can't wait for the pictures!

Candy, that seriously means so much. And it's absolutely right; when I really sit down and think about it I know that as long as Francis is the guy standing at the alter everything else is going to fade away anyways.

Excellent point, Candy! For me and Tyler, the most important thing we're looking forward to about our day isn't so much the fancy decor or the dressing up (though don't get me wrong, he's gonna look nummy in his tux) but the fact that we're going to be surrounded by our family and friends, many of which we don't get to see too often. So really, the parts that are for US are the fact that I am renting us a limo (because Tyler has never ridden in one before; not even for grad) and we're going to have a head table with our closest friends. <3
