A/N: Welp, here goes. My first attempt at writing fanfiction. You can all thank the amazingness of Carly and Candy for getting me to finally bite the bullet and post something. “God, do you ever just SHUT UP!?” Her voice rose in frustration.

Damon’s eyebrows raised at her outburst. “Whoa, who stole your candy?”

This is some good dialogue! [I'm not just saying that because my name's in there, I swear!] It feels very authentic, and I can really hear Elena and Damon there.

Way to step up and come out of your comfort zone!

I definitely think you and Carly might have created a bit of a monster...I swear I haven't been able to stop thinking about plots since that prompt!

And as far as that dialogue goes I'm glad you caught it because it wasn't an accident! I really do appreciate your support in this and I'll be continuing to relay on your wonderful talent too. You have no idea how much your input means to me :)

I just wanted to add that your characterization was spot-on (and I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to that ;). Damon interuppting her, and Elena holding his gaze, and his asking her if she knew what she was saying all felt in-character and believable.
What a wonderful, romantic, and long-awaited moment for them.
Thanks for making me grin like an idiot first thing in the morning. :D

Oh, a couple more things I have to mention ...

I loved the horse reference - it was just perfect for that moment. It touched my heart.

Your title is excellent. It speaks to me of Elena ending her denial and beginning to really & truly experience their feelings.

Oh Meg, this was incredibly beautiful and I'm so thrilled that Candy and I conspired to get you to write it!

Seriously though, you've been hiding THIS much talent and you didn't think you could write fic? For shame, my friend, because for a first attempt that was absolutely brilliant; like something I would write, and that's saying something. I would go over every single line that I loved and tell you how amazing you are, but then I would be repeating the whole story, and I would probably be late for work. I might do that anyway, but the praise will have to wait until 2pm when I get home ;)

Carly, I hope you know how much this means to me! It's literally like having one of your favorite most respected authors telling you that they loved YOUR work...wow.
I definitely feel a bit more confident now that I've posted this first story and I hope that between my now never relenting Delena Voice, Candy, and yourself I can get some more stuff out there! I would LOVE to play with you ladies!!! :D
Now I think I know what you mean about having your ego stroked too ;P

Yes, getting your ego stroked is a pretty awesome feeling; one you're most definitely going to get addicted to, just like I am ;)

But seriously, Meg, you're incredibly talented and I'm still surprised you thought that you weren't good enough. I guess it's true of all of us, though; we are our own worst critics, and we NEED our friends to help us see how amazing we are. And You. Are. Amazing.

Oh I can definitely see how someone would get addicted to such praise... ;P I'm certainly appreciative of the push you and Candy gave me to get out of my comfort zone. Now I can't seem to get ideas to leave me alone now. And you, my dear, will be the first one I come to if I decide that ;D
