Finally. It had finally snowed around here; Matthew was excited. He hadn't seen a good snowfall like this in a while. Sure, they'd gotten good packing snow but this stuff was really good. Luckily he'd gotten up early enough to dig their shovel out of the garage and shovel the driveway and walkways. They didn't have any salt to throw on the ice so he broke up as much as he could and left a note for Alfred to go buy some if he had the time.

Matthew wanted to bring Alfred out with him as well but he was still sleeping and Matthew was just too excited. So was Kumajiro, the dog loved snow as much as Matthew did and the dog was lucky. He was big enough and insulated enough that he wouldn't get cold too quickly, if he did at all. This time he didn't mind Kumajiro dragging him around, the two just had to be a bit more careful because of the ice. Kumajiro had headed up the street towards... Che's house? What was with this dog and that man's house?

Che had been shoving for another thirty minutes and was already sick of it! He had headed down off his porch and was working on the walkway up to his house now. The only issues was that his path was dirt, not concrete, so it made it more difficult to determine the path, so, he just made a straight line for the street and hoped for the best. It was not as cold as he had expected it to be, but honestly, it was still cold. Rubbing his hands together after stopping for a moment, he watched his breath catch the icy air and looked over his yard to see were his buried dogs had gone too ( ... )

The beast's ears perked up at the bark. There was another dog? He barked loudly in response and tugged the blond man a little harder, wanting to get to his destination faster.

Another dog? From what Matthew could remember Che didn't have any dogs, did he? They might have been inside the last time he was by. He pulled the lead back a bit to keep Kumajiro from running off, he couldn't chase him on the ice. So he brought his pace up to tell Kumajiro that yes, he was paying attention and that they'd be getting to where ever they were going sooner.

When they neared the house Matthew saw two dogs and someone standing in the yard. Oh, so Che did have dogs. He raised his free hand to wave.

The three dogs turned and looked at the other dog, all wagging their tails and bounding up to meet the larger beast through the snow. Che made a small sound of panic and shouted at the three monsters in his native tongue, the words falling from his lips quickly before noticing who was walking the other dog and exactly who the other dog was.

Ah, well, Kumajiro was large enough to take on his three mutts that was for certain, but the dog would be out of luck, his garden was frozen over now! He didn't even have a chance to dig out the winter squash that had been growing. Still, he was sure the beast could dig them out as he was so good at digging everything else out of his garden.

"Oye, good mornin'!" He called out to Matthew, having not seen him, or anyone, in quite some time. He put a smile on his lips even though he was cold. The other was always great company when he came around.

Che was shoveling away at the sidewalk just after Matthew had left his residence. It was a little warmer but really not all that much and honestly, to Che it would never be warm enough until winter rolled through. Grumbling to himself had turned into singing to himself, mouthing the words more often then stating them as he pushed aside more and more snow and the dogs that were bounding around had taken up the game of trying to pick up the chunks of snow that collected on the shovel and were tossed to the side. Though, when they heard another dog coming, they stopped and turned around ( ... )

Gilbert took a deep breath. He knew this man. Sort of. It was Ludwig's friend. Gilbert couldn't quite remember his name though he thought it started with a 'C'.

"Sorry!" He called back. "He won't bite either, just slobber a lot. He's a little over excited. He might jump, though."

As if Arturo understood English, he sniffed at the other dogs before running full speed at the other man. Gilbert tried to call out to him but it was too late. The dog's large, front paws were on the man's shoulders and most of his weight was pushed into those two paws.

Gilbert cringed before walking through the path Arturo created to help the other man. At least there was a lot of snow to break a fall...

Che never really saw it coming, but then again, he seemed to be the one who attracted accidents like no ones business that year. Hit by a car, a bike, and all matter of things, but a dog was something new asides the one day with Kumajiro, but, he didn't count that as he could never actually be mad at Matthew. This, was very strange because Che normally had no problem being mad about something.

Today though, he was certain it was just meant to be like this all day, because he could not really blame the dog for wanting to play and well--he wouldn't blame the owner either as his own dogs were out and about but now, as he lay flat in the snow, a large dog above him, his three of a pack hovered around as well, licking his face and barking.

Che dizzily put his hands up to place on the large dogs torso and pat him while turning his head away from his own mutts. "Oye, oye! Off with you beast!"

Aeneas was more than excited to see a thick blanket of snow covering the ground that morning. The school was shut down for the holiday already, and he could do his other work from home. If his internet connection went, he'd have his blackberry as backup.

Not that he was actually working. Oh no, this called for exploration! After a large breakfast, the man had bound himself up in snow boots and a large winter coat and was tramping through the neighborhood. While it seemed that many of his neighbors were hesitant to come outside, there were at least three people that had survived the storm with some sense of purpose and drive.

He recognized two of them; there was that quiet kid from the party, Feli's lover...and a third person! He had not yet met this neighbor!

Leaning up against a nearby tree, Aeneas watched as the albino's dog bounded along and--yes, there he went. Certain that the snow had cushioned the man's fall, he didn't try to stifle his loud laughter.

Looking away from the figure who had just helped him up, Che took a look around the yard when he saw a man watching on, laughing nonetheless. He had never seen his man before granted but Che didn't like being laughed at by anyone, even more so, a complete stranger. Pausing, he shot the other man a small glare before turning back to the pale haired man who had brought the dog in the first place, a warning of sorts, just to let the other know his humor was not warranted and nor was his presence.

Gilbert had to lean back a bit in order to help the other much larger man up. He glanced over his shoulder to see what that obnoxious laughing was coming from and what Che was glaring at. There was Aeneas, leaning against a tree and laughing his ass off.

"You sure you're okay?" Gilbert asked while pulling the flask from out of his jacket. He took a swig. "I'm Gilbert by the way. I think I've run into you before when I was looking for my baby brother."

He switched the flask to his left hand before offering his right. The older man was still laughing behind him. Sure, it was funny but Gilbert was a bit embarrassed at the moment.

"You know," he called, "you shouldn't be laughing, Herr Maximus! Arturo is your Grandson's dog! You should spend less time laughing and more time teaching him how to train a dog!"

"You'd be laughing just as hard if that was me in the snow," Aeneas said, honestly, really trying to stop laughing. However, that withering glare Che was shooting him wasn't helping his sense of humor. "I taught him how to paint and cook, but you can't teach alpha dog behavior!"

His laughter finally dying down, Aeneas pushed himself up off of the trunk and moved forward toward the two men.

Hopefully, Vash-mun won't mind this....(and you, of course) paint_the_lili December 24 2009, 03:01:27 UTC
Lili had lived in the Alps up until now. She was used to the snow and she loved it. However, she wasn't as much of an outdoor person, especially this late in the year. She was used to snow in about October. Around now, back home, it was hardly safe to go outside, if at all ( ... )

OF COURSE SHE IS WELCOME! Sorry for the late reply! mojitostand January 1 2010, 02:30:50 UTC
The other dogs were lounging on the porch, panting from their excitement and looking out into the snow, watching for anyone to pass. For dogs that were suppose to sit around the yard of the mechanic shops they normally lived by, they were not guards at the least when it came to people and other animals, which Che felt was a problem but liked their kindness asides. Almost done with his shoveling, he was tired and cold and was beginning to curse the snow regularly. The dogs, not listening to the mans complaints, saw the small dog on the horizon and all stood up, wagging their tails before bounding out into the snow, chattering away in dog-talk that consisted of yips of contentment, friendly faces, eager to greet the third dog that came along that morning ( ... )

It's okay! paint_the_lili January 1 2010, 03:00:21 UTC
She was a little startled when the dogs came barreling toward. Mönch also got more excited, since he could see the other dogs, now. Yipping in return, just as excited, he ran toward them, and Lili stayed behind him, not wanting him to run off or for herself to accidentally release his leash.

When the man she assumed to be their owner informed her that the dogs were friendly and would cause her no harm, she was a bit relieved. She hadn't been too worried for whether or not they were friendly(especially considering she'd yet to hear any growling from them), but it was still good to know. "Th-thank you!" She said, trying not to venture too far in the yard, considering she'd lacked permission to enter in the first place, but not restrict her puppy's access to the other dogs.

Che moved to the edge of his yard, heading over the remaining snow bank that covered the exit out onto the street. He tried to whistle the dogs to return but they would not listen and he, himself, almost slipped when he hit the icy walkway that lined the street. He really thought if the neighborhood cared enough about them like the seemed to care, they would be out there putting salt down so that people were not slipping and sliding all over the place on a day apparently fit for walking dogs as seemingly the only people that had walked past his house that day were people doing such.

"No problem, no problem, sorry 'bout that!" He murmured after straightening himself out and looking to the pretty girl at the edge of his yard as the three mutts sniffed happily their new friend, one of them staying back around Che's legs and wagging his tail lazily before huffing and laying down on a patch of grass that was exposed, watching and waiting.

"They are--certainly not trained well."
