Honestly, I have no idea the many technicalities in the business that Amy rambles on about, and she understands very little of the stats / things I'm doing, but we still let the other rant and try to pay as much attention as possible.

I think for your own self-preservation you oughtn't check up on him or anything, just try to cut him out. Don't ignore the time/experiences of course, but to just let him go for your own sake.
