"Sho-chan, I found who the sender of your love letter is…” he looked directly in my eyes telling me without words that he was being serious this time. He was just kidding right?
“You found him?” I asked and he nodded, still looking at me intensely.
“Then who…?” I questioned him.
“The sender of your love letters is…” he was emphasizing each word, then continued, “Yourself, Sakurai Sho…”
I looked back at him, “The sender am I myself?” he nodded slowly.
“Do you have any evidences?” I asked him, he could just say that the sender was I without any reason.
“Yes…” he slowly answered.
“Okay, I`m listening to your proofs,” I was kind of challenging him, I sat down on a chair near my studying desk and he followed me with a gaze.
“I didn’t realize it at first, I never expected you`d send those letters to yourself. You even said that when the first letter came you suspected me. But you actually said it so I wouldn’t suspect you…” he started to explain and stopped for a while.
“That`s not an evidence, that is just your analysis of the situation…” I smiled.
“That is just the beginning…” he replied.
I smiled again, “Go on. How did I put that letter in our room then? I was with you all the time and you dragged me to the canteen so I had no time at all to leave that letter before we went to canteen…”
“You brought that letter with you, you were the one who found that letter, it was easy to bring it with you and pretend that you have found it in our room,” he paused for a while, “The second letter was easier, you just needed to put it in your own locker.”
“Then? How about the third letter? I was with you all the time and we separated only in canteen when you went back to our room to get your cell phone. Same trick again as with the first letter?” I asked him.
“No,” he answered me.
“Then?” I raised my eyebrow.
“The sender of first and second letters is not the same as the sender of the last letter,” he answered. I couldn’t help myself but laugh when I heard that.
“You know that perfectly, Sho-chan… Your love letters always used ‘Dear Master Sakurai Sho’ but the last letter…it was just ‘To Sakurai Sho’.” I had noticed it when I received the last letter. “And the sender is ‘your secret admirer’ not ‘tensaibaka’ like in your other letters…” he continued.
“Okay… Who is the third letter`s sender then?” I asked.
He smiled, “I am…”
I laughed, “You?” I repeated.
“Yes, me… I put that letter there when I went to our room that time,” he answered me.
“And your intention was to…?” I asked.
“To tell you indirectly that I know who you are,” he answered, “and I know…you noticed the differences between the letters, Sho-chan.”
I remembered clearly the third letter and my heart started to beat rapidly, I felt like someone read that letter in my head ‘I love you, Sakurai Sho… I love you and will always love you… Drop your disguise and I`ll still love you…’
“Was those your true feelings?” I asked.
“Does that question have any relevance in our conversation right now?” he questioned back. I didn’t try to answer. As expected, it was just about that letter game, he had no real feelings towards me.
“I started to suspect you after the second letter…” he continued after he got no response from me.
I tilted my head, “The second letter?” I repeated.
“This is the second letter,” he lifted a paper and showed the letter to me.
I frowned, “Anything weird there?” I asked.
He turned the letter and read it again, “Dear master, Sakurai Sho, It looks like you are trying hard to find me. So I`ll give you one more clue. You had saved my life once. You can run after me but first take care of your cold, lemon juice will help. Tensaibaka”
“Which part?” I asked, “The ‘saved life’ part? But you`re the one who told me that saving someone’s life can be a reason for this someone to love you…”
“No,” he answered.
“Then?”
“The ‘take care of your cold’ part,” he answered, “No one knew you were sick at that time, you started coughing in the morning and you got that letter that morning too, there was no way other people would’ve known about your condition that morning, except me…who’s staying in one room with you…and yourself…”
I kept looking at him, “I didn’t send that letter, so…the one who knew about your condition and could send the letter was you…”
I didn’t respond to this so he continued, “I asked about this matter to Jun, Ohno and Nino after that second letter.”
“Jun said he didn’t send it to you…because he is dating a senior right now,” even though I should have felt worried, half of me felt happy when I heard that Matsumoto was dating a senior, “And Nino… He actually accepted Oh-chan’s confession.”
“Huh?”
“You didn’t listen till the end of the conversation, right? I bet you just listened until Nino apologized and said that he has someone he loves.”
“Yes…” I answered.
“Right after that Nino said…that he lied…and they are in a relationship right now.”
That went beyond my expectations. I closed my eyes and when I opened them, Aiba was still looking directly at me.
“Drop your disguise, Sho-chan… You`re the sender of the first and the second letters, right?” he asked me.
I sighed, “Yes,” I slowly answered.
“Why did you do that?” he asked, but this time his voice was trembling, “You wanted to toy with my feelings?” he questioned.
My eyes opened wide and my heart started to beat really fast when I heard that sentence coming from Aiba… Not only that, his voice was trembling, which meant he could start crying any moment now, and he would cry because of me… Again, since I believe, while he was with Matsumoto, he cried because of me as well, I wondered how many times I had made this pure, cute and pretty eyes tear up. A big tear started to roll down from his eye going over his cheek, at that moment I realized that what I have done was a very big mistake, really, an unforgivable mistake.
"Is that the reason, Sho? Playing around with me?" I felt he was trying really hard to control himself so he wouldn’t shed more tears in front of me. My heart really hurt this point.
"I…" I started to speak but my voice choked in my throat, I really couldn’t handle seeing my cheerful roommate in this state.
"You what, Sho… Explain me," he looked at me with his teary eyes. I still couldn't speak or even open my mouth.
"What was the reason that made you do that? It is really not normal… Not normal to send love letters to yourself." He tried his best to wipe the falling tears from his eyes.
"Did you know that I love you and you wanted to toy with my feelings?"
My heart skipped a beat when I heard this from Aiba. He loves me? He IS in love with…me!!! I really couldn’t handle all this stuff at the same time.
"You.. You love me? So that letter…" I didn’t finish my sentence and looked at him.
"Yes, Sho, those ware my real feelings… Don't play dumb and act like you didn’t know that." I was really shocked about what he had just said.
"Just tell me why, tell me," he said.
"Aiba, listen to me…" I started to say, I really needed to explain myself to him, especially after what he had just said. "I swear that I wasn't playing with your feelings, or playing with you." I looked in his eyes and said, "I REALLY didn’t know that you-" I stopped for a few seconds, "love me." I whispered.
" Of course, why am I not really surprised about this… You had never noticed anything regarding me," he yelled and tried to get out of the room. I ran as fast as I could and caught him. I threw him on my bed and trapped him as I was above him.
"Let go of me, Sho!" he fought back but I managed to get hold of both of his hands and made him unable to move too much underneath me.
"Let me go," he tried to escape again.
"Listen to me, Masaki, I really didn't know that you love me, I would’ve never done this if I would’ve known, and don't say things like I don’t not care about you, you want to know why? Do you want to know?" I raised my voice a bit, he stopped struggling.
"Because I wanted to be closer to you… I wanted to share an adventure with you… At first… I didn’t know why I want to do that, but I really wanted to do something fun together with you… And because of this…" I stopped in my sentence and looked away from the cute figure underneath me. There was a quite peace in the room, I felt how Aiba was looking at me. "Because of this I realized my hidden feelings."
Aiba kept silent the whole time and just waited for me to keep going. I really didn't know what to do anymore.
"Feelings? Don't joke with me, Sho," he said after some minutes had passed and I hadn’t said anything.
He tried to make me get off of him. I took the chance and pressed my lips on his and kissed him desperately. I couldn’t really think of what I was doing or anything, I just kissed him. It was short and soft and felt just right. A heavy silence covered the whole room, then I cut it and said, "I realized my hidden feelings… I am in love you… in love with Aiba Masaki."
I leant down closer to him and gently held his cheeks and kissed his lips again… This time the kiss was longer. I was surprised when Aiba started to kiss me back and parted his lips a little bit. I took the chance and made the kiss deeper and slipped my tongue in his warm mouth and met his tongue for the first time. I sucked on his lower lip softly and ended the wonderful kiss when both of us were in need for some air.
"Try to believe it, Masaki… I really love you." I said and he looked directly in my eyes, "I don't know why, but I believe you, I am in love with you too, Sakurai Sho."
