Summary : Aiba Masaki used to be a great songwriter until the death of his beloved made him stop composing. Yet, the arrival of Sakurai Sho has colored his life. Sho taught him what is love and made him knew happiness again. But life...never be that easy...

Third Melody...

Aiba coughed loudly when he felt the smoke entered his smelling. He swayed his hand in front of his nose but it didn’t make him feel better. He coughed again, louder that before, he hoped that the one who smoke in his apartment stopped his behavior. Because really... He couldn’t bear it if someone was smoking in front of him. But he didn’t stop, so Aiba turned off the stove and walked to the veranda with a glass of water in his hand. He saw a figure leaned on the handle of the veranda as he blew the smoke from his lips away. His left hand brought a glass of alcohol with him. Aiba glared at the figure although he knew that the guy won’t see it. He walked slowly, trying to not make any sounds and pour the water on the guy head. The guy’s scream made Aiba laughed loudly.

“What are you doing Masaki!” He yelled in frustration as he flicked his head to dry his hair.

“I told you Jun, don’t smoke in front of me...” he pouted to his lover and he took the alcohol from Jun’s left hand as well. “And don’t drink before dinner...”

“You’re my mom now?” Jun muttered as he felt really cracky with Aiba’s rules.

Aiba shrugged, “You can call me mom then, and you can’t kiss your own mom, can’t have sex with your mom as well...” he walked inside the house and poured the rest of the whiskey, that Jun drunk, in the sink. Jun followed him and his eyes almost popped out when he saw his lover throw his whiskey just like that in the sink. Although he knew how strict Aiba was about his smoke and drink habits.

Aiba turned on the stove again and started to cook. Jun tiptoed closer and embraced his pouty lover from behind. “But I love my mom so much...” he whispered at Aiba’s ear and a slow blew slowly made the later shiver. Aiba reigned himself from the tease and pushed his boyfriend away.

“You smell of smoke and alcohol, and you are wet!” he placed his hand on his hips and showed his bossy expression. “You won’t get the dinner Jun-pon if you don’t go to shower now!”

“But, I’m wet because of you...” Jun protested but he lowered his voice to add the temptation on his sentences. A temptation that Aiba usually couldn’t avoid.

Aiba felt flustered when he saw a drop of water dripping from Jun’s cheek to his neck and ended wetting his t-shirt. He shook his head to drive away his wild imaginations from licking it right there and right now. “That’s because you break the rules...” he tried hard not to show Jun how hard it was to swallow his saliva and keeping his voice under control.

“Then... bath me, mom...” Jun said as he grinned when he noticed how Aiba’s gaze focused on his neck.

“I’m not your mom...”

Jun laughed and walked closer to him, “That’s perfect... because I can’t ask my mom to bath with me...” he kissed Aiba’s collarbone slowly and rotated the stove button to off. He brought Aiba’s hands to his chest so Aiba looked like hugging him from behind. He walked slowly bringing both of them to the bathroom.

“Master...whiskey!” Aiba called the bartender loudly. He swung his empty glass to show that he wants to order another one. A bartender came to him and prepared another glass.

“Sakurai--”

“Call me Aiba!” Aiba yelled loudly as he felt irritated because the bartender called him Sakurai.

“Aiba-san, you can’t drink right? This is the last glass, okay?” he pushed a glass in front of Aiba and the later took a sip of it, feeling the alcohol burning his throat. He propped his chin and stared to his glass blankly. Why did you like this drink so much, Jun...

Someone stood beside Aiba when he took another gulp to his whiskey. He placed his glass back to the counter and turned his head to face that someone. A man with a black t-shirt smiled to him. Aiba sighed as he realized: Another flirtatious guy, huh?

“Whiskey and alone... I can cry when I see that kind of view...” the guy said as he sat besides Aiba.

Aiba laughed, “I think usually we drink whiskey if we are alone...” he mumbled slowly, because his consciousness was slowly leaving his body.

“True, then maybe we can change your drink now...” the man lift his hand to the bartender.

Aiba shook his head, “This is my last glass... today, at least...”

“Too bad and I thought I could treat you something...” the guy still insisted to make Aiba drink another glass.

“You still have tomorrow,” he patted the stranger guy shoulder.

“You will be here tomor-damn! That’s you!” he pointed to a television that placed on the ceiling.

Aiba lift his head to see the television and he could see himself in the middle of the crowded while a handsome guy hugged his waist and tried to make a way for him. He and the handsome guy entered the car that brought him to the end of the video. A plain woman read the news with a boring tone and they showed the video again, “Aiba Masaki, who we know as the genius song writer married to a rich young businessman, Sakurai Sho. They held a wedding party in a luxurious hotel in the eastern side of Tokyo... So far they won’t give us any further information of this sudden marriage. Like we know, Aiba Masaki retreated from music industries two years ago after his fiancé passed away. We didn’t get any information from Aiba-san’s good friend, Ninomiya Kazunari as well. Ninomiya-san who we met at the backstage after his performance rejected to give us information about Aiba-san marriage. He just said that he would sing on the wedding party--”

Aiba pushed the off button of the television and the guy grunted because of that. “You’re Aiba Masaki...”

“Perfect guess,” Aiba snorted and was ready to leave the bar.

“And you are married...” he held Aiba’s arm and restrain him from left the bar. Aiba tried to free himself but the guy held his arms tighter. “That’s turn me on...”

“What?” Aiba never get any answer from the guy as he mashed his lips to Aiba’s one. He sucked Aiba’s lips hungrily and started to roamed his hand to Aiba’s body. But suddenly someone pulled the guy away.

“Bar’s rule number one, you should keep your hand off from someone wife,” Sho stood up and wrapped his hand on Aiba’s waist in a really protective way; he stared at the man who slumped to the ground with a very dangerous gaze. “Bar’s rule number two, if you see the husband you better take your ass out of the place!”

The unknown guy stumbled on his own foot but he left the bar fast. Aiba pushed his husband hand away from him, “Bar’s rule number three: you have no right to ruin the party when it started to be interesting...” Aiba said as he swayed his seat back to the bar. He took his glass again and almost took another sip when Sho seized his glass away.

“Enough Masaki, you are drunk enough!” He took some money out from his wallet and placed it on the table. “Master, I bring my wife home, thanks for today...” he waved to the bartender and got a bow from him as the response.

Aiba let his husband help him and bring him back to the car. Sho slowly made Aiba sit on the front seat and he sat on the driver’s seat. He kept his focus on the way until he heard a soft sobbing left his wife lips. He stopped the car and observed Aiba’s face. His eyes closed but a tear streamed down to his cheek, “Jun...” he whispered slowly. Sho knew Aiba already lost his consciousness and mumbled in his sleep. He wiped Aiba’s tears. “I’m sorry...” he whispered on his wife ear slowly and kissed his forehead.

“It’s not fair because I love you...”
Jun...
“I’ll make it fair again because I love you too...”
Jun...please...
“I love you more...”
Jun please don’t come closer...please...
He could see his smile, one step again and Jun would be in his reach, “I love you mos--”
The car engine roaring torn the silence into pieces...

Aiba opened his eyes and tried to fill his lungs with the air. He felt his lips trembling as he closed his eyes again. Aiba felt it really hard to move his body. He opened his eyes again and realized that he was in... Sho’s room...Because he saw their wedding photo hang on the wall. It was actually their room but Aiba didn’t really want to admit it... He never slept here before although it’s been one week since he moved to Sho’s house. He stubbornly slept in the living room every day, although Sho had another room.

“You awake...?” someone opened the door and brought a tray along with him. Aiba didn’t intend to answer him. Sho placed the tray on the table and lowered himself to help Aiba sit. He raised Aiba’s body and made him lean to the bed head, then slowly he handed a glass of orange juice to him.

“Vitamin C... good to heal hangover...” Aiba took the juice from his hand and Sho stood up, “I’ll go to work...” he caressed Aiba’s hair tenderly, “You better sleep...”

“You prepared orange juice as well in the hotel...” Aiba said after he took a sip of his juice and felt a way better than before. Sho smiled to him and nodded.

“And the shirt... you brought me there because you know you’ll meet me there in the morning...” Aiba mumbled but he didn’t try to look at Sho.

Sho sat back on the edge of the bed, “You work as detective as well?”

Aiba didn’t answer it, he took a deep breath and looked around. He captured a grand piano near the window. He got off from the bed and slowly walked to it, he felt the warmth of the carpet on his foot. Sho didn’t stop him; he only saw his wife approach the piano.

“You play piano?” Aiba asked, he never comes inside Sho’s room, that’s why he didn’t know if he plays it or not.

“No...” Sho answered calmly.

“I guess so...” Aiba nodded, he could see that the piano was still new. “Then...?” he turned to Sho again and leaned to the piano because he felt his body sway.

“I bought it for you...I thought you’ll need it...” he answered. “To compose the music...”

Aiba sighed, “I don’t need it, I stopped to compose music,” he said it firmly.

Sho stood up and walked closer, “But, it’s not like you won’t start again, right...”

“I won’t... I don’t want to compose songs anymore...” he slowly traced the piano using his fingers. His mind wandered to a crumpled paper, a song that could never be finished by him... His last song... A song that he wrote... was for Jun...

He felt his eyes getting teary but he really didn’t want this Sho guy to see him when he was crying, although Sho saw Aiba’s crying, once...

“You don’t need to be nice to me...” Aiba told his husband, which made Sho stop on his track. “You know, we didn’t want this marriage...”

Sho stood still, although he was just one meter away from Aiba, “You don’t want this marriage and I feel really sorry about that...” Sho corrected his sentences, he looked hesitate but he continued, “But we married... you’re my wife and you’re a Sakurai now... you need that status, right?”

“You know about my brother’s problem, huh?”

“Yes, I know it... I knew it even before I married you...” he nodded.

“You don’t mind? To live with a drunkard like me, who actually married you just because of your money and status?” Aiba smirked to him. Frightening Sho with some facts that he would have to face if he continued this marriage really made Aiba happy. He felt refreshed.

He took one step closer to him again, “I don’t mind...You can exploit me as you wish... I don’t mind it, Masaki...”
