Summary : Aiba Masaki used to be a great songwriter until the death of his beloved made him stop composing. Yet, the arrival of Sakurai Sho has colored his life. Sho taught him what is love and made him knew happiness again. But life...never be that easy...

Fourteenth Melody...

Jun walked along the beautiful hallway, the marble floor resounded the sound of his steps to the white wall. There were a lot of people walking while mumbling random things, Jun’s ears caught some of them; notes, dance steps, intonation, or about how did they run out of some colors in their oil paint box. He loved to hear that conversation, he loved to be part of that cycle, the part of the living in the building. The smell of spring filled Jun’s smelling, the fragrance of beginning a new life and love. Everything started again in spring, erased the cold of the winter, changed the pale white into beautiful pink and blue colors.

He was trying to absorb the sunshine excessively but then the tips of his fingers touched soft hair. He almost jumped in shock since he didn’t see that his last step made something topple from the floor. A panicked voice followed after that as he looked to the floor, seeing a guy who knelt down and tried to tidy his -Jun was really sure- things up that were messed the floor. For a second Jun couldn’t help but feel his heart beating faster than usually as a pair of eyes looked back at him; brown, teary and beautiful…

“I’m sorry…” For ten seconds of his life Jun believed he had met the most beautiful girl in the world but that voice erased his beautiful thought, the owner of the beautiful eyes was a guy. His hair stick up, later Jun knew that was because of him, he accidentally touched the guy’s hair.

“Nino!” he panicky called his friend who turned at him and raised his eyebrow when he saw the mess that his friend made but judging from his gaze he wasn’t shocked anymore. The guy named Nino (Jun couldn’t stop to feel weird, it’s not normal to have Nino as name) walked back and helped his friend to clean the mess.

“You are such a mess…” Nino mumbled but it seemed like a mom who tried to make his boy doing the homework from Jun’s point of view. “Can you please put all your books to the bag before we walk to another class?”

“But we are in a rush…” the guy with beautiful eyes answered and tried to make his small bag fit for all his books.

“Good you know, because now we will late!” he said as he pushed the last book to the beautiful guy’s bag. “Let’s go!” he said and brought the guy on his feet. Jun still stunned in his position, the beautiful guy glanced to him and nodded his head as apology sign and Jun replied lightly. He was late for a second to see the guy’s note that was kicked by him, he took it fast and turned his body but the guy was already gone. He already made a move to follow the guy but his second thought stopped him. He didn’t have any interest to know the guy, he didn’t need any messy people in his life anymore, the thing he had to do was to put his note to the guy’s locker. Jun opened the note and saw a name on the corner of the paper.

Aiba Masaki
Music department

Aiba Masaki, Jun preferred to call someone like him a loser. Jun sighed when he thought about how poor Nino had to take care of someone like Aiba, at the point where he didn’t know that he would fall for the guy he just met so hard, that he just met the guy destined to him, that he would love until his last breath. Aiba Masaki…

~*~

Aiba couldn’t feel his body anymore, he felt like his soul was flying away, leaving his body. His mind was blank, the pain because of Ohno’s betrayal destroyed him. He felt like someone planted a bomb in his heart and pushed the trigger; exploded him until nothing was left… The pain was unbearable until he could feel the part of his body broke one by one. He couldn’t remember how did he get home or how did he brought himself to walk. Aiba found Sho running to the front door; his breathing was ragged, eyes opened widely, confusion and worry mapped clearly on his face. But he stopped, didn’t try to come closer until Aiba whispered, “Sho… hug me…” but instead doing as he wished, Sho stunned still even after he heard it, “Please…”

Slowly Sho reached for Aiba’s wrist and brought him into a hug. He didn’t understand what had happened. The thing he knew was that Aiba wasn’t home when he was back and as he tried to contact his wife, he couldn’t reach him at all. Sho has almost lost his mind and would try to look for Aiba everywhere, he didn’t even care if he had to look for Aiba to every place in the city, Aiba never went anywhere without telling him. He felt the feeling of strangulate on his neck loosen when he hugged Aiba, his worries almost killed him.

Aiba felt his body trembling uncontrollable as Sho’s arms cycled on his waist and back, kept him from the wreck. He hung on Sho dearly and let his tears wet Sho’s t-shirt, he just needed someone to make sure that he was still alive, who could bring him back together again. Hugging Sho made him able to feel his heart, still beating inside his chest. Sho didn’t say anything, nor asked or made any sounds, he was just there… waiting patiently. When Aiba started to calm down, Sho lowered his arm and brought Aiba to their room. Not long after Aiba felt his back touch the soft and fluffy surface of the bed, Sho touched his hands slowly, moved them from his neck to the waist and hugged him tightly on the bed.

Aiba snuggled closer to Sho, placed his cheek on Sho’s chest, feeling it move up and down slowly when Sho was breathing. Somehow, hearing Sho’s slow heartbeats, feeling his warm breath brushing his hair and arms wrapped around his body. made Aiba calm. They didn’t say anything; only feeling each other’s presences, counted the ticking of the clock. Feeling Sho’s touches sent Aiba warm sense to his skin, he felt cared, protected, loved… Sho was his life, his love, his everything…

He backed off for some centimeters so that he could see Sho’s face, his husband looked back at him, finger traced the trail of his tears on his cheek tenderly. Sho opened his lips to ask what had happen when Aiba closed his eyes slowly, moved closer millimeter to millimeter. Naturally Sho smuggled his fingers to Aiba’s hair as he brought his wife into a kiss, he felt the younger needy kiss and his own desire controlled both of them, the urge to touch Aiba and not to try asking what had happened almost inevitable to him.

Sho felt Aiba grinding his thigh to Sho’s member, knew that it would make his husband moan in pleasure. Breathless, with his last piece of sanity inside his head, Sho pushed him slowly, stopping Aiba from stripping him. He had to ask, no matter how much he wanted his wife at that time. He had to know what had happen until he was back crying, he had the right to know, he wanted to know…

Aiba frowned and pouted, showing his dislike expression to Sho. “I want you… I really do…” Sho somehow felt like he had to make it clear to Aiba. “I just need to know what had happened earlier…”

He knew that his question would make Aiba break down again but he couldn’t let Aiba run away from his problem and pain. He wanted his wife to share it with him, he wanted to be useful…

Sho felt his heart breaking into pieces when he saw Aiba’s tears, starting to flood his face again. As much as he wanted to protect Aiba, it seemed to be not working at all. He would love to do anything to make him happy, he would be grateful to give anything, even his life just to see Aiba’s smiles. But sometimes his life wasn’t enough to protect the one he loves… He felt like he was dying every time he saw Aiba crying in front of him.

But he forced himself to wait for his answer, until Aiba’s unspeakable answer punched his face so hard, “Oh-chan did it… he was the one who killed Jun…”

“Wh-what?” Sho felt like there was a rock on his throat, choking him when he tried to talk.

“He betrayed me… he killed Jun! He killed Jun!!” Aiba last sentence repeated crazily in Sho’s mind. He held Aiba’s hands on his chest tightly when Aiba’s heartbroken cry destroyed the silence.

The pain of losing Jun, the hurt because of his best friend betrayal - someone that he believed with all his heart was the one who took Jun from his side - was unbearable for him. How come Ohno had heart to stay beside Aiba and watch his ruination by his own eyes, tear Aiba’s life apart?

Sho shuddered when he saw Aiba’s eyes, the usual kind and warm gaze changed into bloodthirsty as Aiba said slowly but firmly, “I will kill him… I will kill him and no one can stop me…”

“Masaki…” Sho’s expression was in horror when he heard Aiba’s declaration. “Masaki, please don’t do that…”

“I knew it! I knew you will never understand my feelings!” he shouted as he brought himself to sit. “I never expected you to understand! But you can’t stop me Sho, You can’t!”

Sho followed his wife to sit and tried to reach on him, “Masaki… sweetheart… please calm down…” but Aiba skimmed his hand away.

To give him space, Sho didn’t try to touch Aiba again, instead he waited until Aiba calmed down. When he was sure Aiba won’t reject him anymore he reached on Aiba’s hand again, slowly traced the tattoo ring on his finger and linked their fingers together. Aiba gripped Sho’s hand tightly as he placed his forehead on their linked hands, “Why did he do that…” he whispered. “Why did he do that to Jun… to his best friend… to me…”

Aiba searched through his deepest memory, when did Jun hurt Ohno until he deserved to be killed, he tried to dig all memories but he found nothing. They never fought, they always cared about each other, they loved each other… then why…? For what reason…? Ohno was always so caring, so kind, it was easy to love him, to make him as best friend. Ohno never stopped to take care of him, how could someone like Ohno did that, how could he hurt Aiba that much…

Sho was lost of his words, he couldn’t do anything except letting Aiba holding his hand tightly, he understood that Aiba needed someone to hold on while his world already somersaulted. “Masaki…” Sho whispered again, “Please don’t say that I don’t understand your feelings… but please thinking before you decide to kill him…”

Aiba lifted his head and his red eyes looked back at Sho’s ones, “What do I need to think about?”

“About everything--”

“What’s everything??” Aiba shouted again.

“The fact that he couldn’t even drive at that time!” Sho almost shouted back at him, his high tone made Aiba unable to shout back at him. “I’m sorry… I didn’t mean to shout at you…” his voice softened again, regretted that he shouted back at Aiba.

In two seconds a lot of thoughts flooded Aiba’s head, he was late for a second to pull his hand away from Sho as he stared at his husband, “How did you know…?” he asked his husband as Sho looked back at him, confused, “Know about what?” he questioned Aiba back.

Aiba felt his heart crumble as he asked to someone that he loves, he believes, the only one who he thinks would never betray him, “I never told you that Ohno couldn’t drive at that time… How did you know about it?”
