getting ready for winter

I was working outside, trying to get my firewood covered again, and it's damn cold out there. My face was starting to hurt and it's only in the mid 20's right now. I guess I haven't gotten used to the cold yet this year. And/or I'm getting old ( Read more... )

You're not alone on hoses: MK didn't get outs in until 2 days ago even though it was getting cold at night. Hope the one thaws out ok.

The weather turned kind of fast. We're used to 30s-40s right now, so maybe it's ok.

Sorry about the road. I can see the frustration.

September was still summer. Most of October was in the 60's daytime with a few days nearing 80. The first three weeks of November were hovering around 50, which is good fall weather, but it was short.

I feel somewhat the same. It's nice to have a change in season, but still... oh well: it's nice for me to have something to complain about with the weather. =)

I know I sound like I'm complaining, but my only real complaint was why can't I deal with this cold? The weather has been so nice this year, and even this cold is not out of season.

I'm sure glad I don't have to worry about freezing hoses.
20's sounds cold but it's just about December so maybe not so much.

Sounds like the city doesn't want you to access your shed...do you have the right to access from the side road? The town should build your culvert!

I'm not sure if I would have any legal recourse. There wasn't a driveway or a culvert there before, so I guess they wouldn't have been required to replace it. But I never needed a culvert because it was flat ground.
