top 5 david hasselhoff music videos

Today I have discovered a thing of majesty: David Hasselhoff, aka Michael Knight of Knight Rider fame, was also... a singer.

5. Looking for Freedom
When the Hoff looks at you in those beginning moments, you feel as if he is staring into your soul. His quest for freedom has taken him into a mysterious land of mist, plastic boulders, and dead trees. Classic. I think this is the one that went no. 1 in the German charts.

4. Crazy for You
This is the quintessential 80s pop music video. I can see that for the Hoff the road is an intense metaphor. Also, the introduction of the dog half way through the video is quite ingenious. Only until then do we find out he is actually crazy for his dachshund. Yes, yes. You and I belong together, like the sand and sea.

3. Limbo

I don't know if this is an intentional self reference on Hoff's part, but here again the theme of "sand and sea," along with some serious jiggling whilst trapped inside a hammock. Perhaps, after this brief relaxational interlude the man himself will return to his quest for freedom? Hmm, these are questions, questions that seek answers.

2. Jump In My Car
Wow, what a beast. Every time I see a new Hoff video it is like a new revelation. (Cas, take notes.) When he hoists himself out of KITT it is like the movement of Hercules. In fact, guys, I am pretty sure ichor runs deep in his veins. Although, now I'm mixing metaphors. Already, his music videos have touched me deeply. Also, another spectacular performance in terms of showcasing his groovy moves.

1. Hooked on a Feeling

Top Hoff vid of all time, hands down. The way the ambitious beats and sparkling electro trinkles in the background mix together to induce an aural pleasure of great magnitude. Not to mention the intensity of his performance (I am referring to, of course, the fist of determination.) As I have mentioned previously, I have never seen anything as awe-inspiring as David Hasselhoff flapping his arms and flying across my window screen. Guys... I just can't stop this feeling deep inside of me.
