Yup, these questions are all ones you'll ask, and it may be a long time before you answer them. I'm more than halfway through my degree and I certainly haven't. Just enjoy the courses for what they are, and all the stuff you'll get from them. Expensive, but you'll be amazed just how good you get at trivia.

picking courses is like picking corn, in a way. Sometimes the corn is good and rip and sometimes its under rip and drier then a nun's panites. Good luck baby boy! ;)

First of all, you'll find that University classes are very different than what you're used to. (Here I'm assuming that your expectations are based on high school. If this assumption is wrong, please inform me so I can provide a more applicable statement.) High school is a drone factory; the program is designed to churn out people who meet the basic requirements for society. For the most part it works, so we have a functioning society, but it's annoying to everyone, most especially those who badly fit such a mold, and those who don't need the prodding to become "useful". University is, by and large, populated by the people who didn't fit the mold well, so it feels very different. And taking education because you want to, rather than because you have to, has a surprisingly huge effect ( ... )

*hides from CP's post*
Going to UPEI this year is probably the best idea...I'm sure your first year will give ideas for the years to come.

I'll have to agree with your benevolent older sibling for the most part.
University is much different then high school. For one it doesn't suck. :)

Taking a braud corse load in your first year is a great idea, but don't go into it predjudiced.

Further, I'll warn you that UPEI has few tollerable english profs (from my point of view at least (try to take Eng101M with me this year, please *begs*) :P).

Anyway, I can understand what you are saying about science (as that is exactly why I'm not a CS major) but you'd be surprised how your opinions change.

Eng 101 M, second semester, tuesday evening right??
Cause I'm fairly sure that's the one I'm registered in!

As for course loads... I'm taking as broad as possible... or at least broad enough to leave me an easy way into either of the majors I want (English/Physics). I guess I'll just need to wait.

No, first semester
ENG 101M Academic Writing M 020 M & W 3:00-4:15

*shrugs* whatever, the prof is really good (especial for science minded people) and she actually marks papers in stead of randomly giving marks like the other english profs.
