Bleh. My little kitten died. I don't know how or why... she was fine this morning, and then a few hours ago she just went really limp. All she could do was squirm and mew.. then all she could do was lie there and die. :| Poor little kitten.

I'm sorry about your loss. Had she gone outside at all? Was it possible that she got into antifreeze somehow? I remember watching something on Animal Planet once, The cat didn't show symptomes for a few hours to a few days, and then started to walk as if she didn't know she was moving, and then stopped moving all together.

I also saw that you could posion them by letting them get into oil, any way she could of gotten into that? I'm just trying to help you figure out what happened...*hugs* I hope everything is okay with you :)

Nope, she was strictly an indoor cat... My mom thinks something was wrong with her from the get-go, as she wasn't very active and walked funny. :\

I just figured the not activeness was sleepiness.. cuz kittens need their sleep and stuff... and I figured the walking funny thing was just a dumb kitten trait, because I've had kittens who've walked like that, and they grew up fine.

Other than the death of my little kitty, I'm okay.. going to a concert with Asa and some friends from down state in about a week.. so. I have something to look forward to.

Good. Ben moved in and lives in my basement :) I've lost my mind playing City of Heroes but other than that, nothing really.

Sorry about your kitty. The way she died did kinda sound like she got into something but who knows? Maybe she was just sick. My cat had some kittens a long time ago and they died when they were really young for no reason. I hope you have better luck next time and try not to be upset for too long. *HUGS*

Eh, was the kitten vomiting or evacuating her bladder or bowels before she died? Toward the end, when she was immobilized and just breathing? We had a litter last summer that were exposed to flea medication by Nate's stupid fucker of a stepfather. They were fine for a few days, then one started to refuse food, eventually just laying there, dying. Before death, they would always evacuate from both ends. Even the one we thought would be fine, who lasted a week longer than the rest... same symptoms that just come on suddenly.

Have you exposed her to any flea powder, shampoo or other medication/treatment? Even a flea collar can be deadly to a kitten under two or three months... and then it can only be kitten-safe varieties.

I'm sorry to hear she died, though. I know what it's like to lose a pet.
