We deside as a majority what is right and wrong and govern acordingly. The consepts of our gods and the overlaping morality of religions play apart in those views. Yet we as a people change these views as we see fit. For every "rule of morality" we can justify an exseption.

We call it the greater good.

I could be wrong, but I think most people would agree.
