This is going to be my dumping ground for Hermione's knowledge about Luceti. If your character has seen her notebook or spoken to her personally face-to-face, they will know all of this.
Time: Time works differently here. People can be taken from different points in their timelines. It's thought that time will stop when a person is plucked out and taken to Luceti. If they are taken home, they are inserted directly into the place and time they were taken from.
Recently, as of late May / early June, residents have claimed to see flashes of things or people familiar to them from their homes, whether dead or alive. Catherine has stated this is a result of merging realities, which includes all the known timelines, as an assimilation of sorts. Catherine himself is experiencing this, as it's "world-wide." My guess is that it's the world of Luceti causing this, as he also stated it's not the Malnosso or the Third Party causing it. But if it's not stopped, it might end with the collapse of this reality, the end of all things.
Magic: Many different types of magic exist here from many different worlds and each operates in a different manner. There's also Filial magic. (insert fifteen page paper on how filial magic differs from her own.) It can be learned from different spirits.
*Nala (Healing) is very easy to contact, kind and warm, and her magic takes two weeks to master.
*Eferin (“eh-feh-rin”) (fire) is picky. He's best with an affinity to fire already established, is heard best in forests, and his magic takes a month to learn.
*Sona(“soh-nah”) (water) is heard near bodies of water and takes two to three weeks to learn.
*Kipinn (“key-pin”) (wind) is very friendly, heard best near mountains and takes about a week to master.
*Tsinku (“sin-koo”) (electricity) is heard best in wide open areas and takes three to four weeks to learn
*Faeren (“fair-en”) (earth) is easy to learn the basics, but the harder elements take three to four weeks.
*Hyt (“height”) (light) takes at least a month to contact, let alone learn.
The Malnosso: In order to keep our knowledge of them secret, the only things we're allowed to mention on the journal are that the Malnosso are responsible for the kidnapping and relocation of everyone from their respective worlds. The truth is that the Malnosso themselves were kidnapped, just as we were, and the real culprit might just be the nature of Luceti itself. The Malnosso, however, are responsible for the cycle of experiments. The New Feather Cycles happen on the first of every month without fail. They've existed for centuries and there's no way to stop them. We've no idea what happened to those who came before us. The current group of people has only been here for two years.
They also like keeping us in the dark. The library has no information on Luceti at all.
We have no idea where the Malnosso currently reside. Previously, they inhabited tunnels and abandoned buildings.
Catherine: One of the Malnosso. Has recently contacted us. Stated several facts about the flashes of home, as well as the kidnappings going on. He believes the kidnappers are Malnosso themselves. He's apparently also willing to send people in to infiltrate, with back up of course, and a "Monitoring Shift.". I'm not entirely sure what I think of this. He also doesn't trust any within his company, yet he's their CEO. So they're more broken up than we thought.
Shifting Technology: "A physical, mathematical, mental, or subcultural alteration" from an outside source. This is the technical term for the monthly experiments by the Malnosso, who do it using technological means. The Third Party seems to have a natural ability for it but only affect outside the barrier. (There's also a "Shift-Run," which is "generally used when you do a continuous alteration to reality; that's the name of the equation form!" according to Catherine.)
A "Monitoring Shift" is what allows the Malnosso to keep us under watch inside the barrier. If they can perform it, then whoever is doing the kidnapping must also be able to use it.
The Third Party: They are in opposition with the Malnosso. They hold different ideals and seem to think the only way to save people is through ritualistic sacrifice, which appears to be the only way to truly die here. The barrier is Malnosso technology and exists to keep the Third Party out; also it seems to protect us from the Third Party and their Shifting abilities.
John, Jacob, and ANI: These 'helpers' initiate contact and may lock entries entirely against the Malnosso Organization.
In late November, the well collapsed revealing the tunnel system. Shortly after, the people currently residing in the village were contacted by "Jacob," a traitor to the Malnosso. He seemed to mean well and want to return home like the rest of us.
Two months after Jacob's contact, John turned up. He's part of the Malnosso, though his goals align with those of the captives', so he helps and looks out for us reluctantly.
ANI is the most recent. She is an observer, not part of the Malnosso Organization or the Third Party. She seems to remain neutral though will still offer information. ANI is an artificial intelligence program, though her creator has been known to also contact us.
Jacob was offered as a sacrifice by the Third Party before the battle last summer. I believe this is what started the battle. Jacob was likely given to the Third Party in order for John to have time to work against them. The belief is that the sacrifice brings permanent death, but has not been confirmed. No idea of impact on his homeworld. However, John has succeeded in "resurrecting" Jacob, though he no longer remembers anything from his homeworld. Whether this is true resurrection or nor remains to be seen.
Other:
There are computers located in a tunnel system that can transmit messages to the journals on a "secure" network. This is the only way to filter a message so that the Malnosso cannot see it.
Death does not last unless a person is ritualistically sacrified. See "Third Party" entry.
